Does it bring a lump to your throat for those that have done it?
It does for me, I would of loved to do it again.

I managed to do 4 hours 25 minutes a few years ago.

I had to turn over to watch the football then though.

You were probably chasing a booturd Jarv.

Well done though and I can't believe that was 10 years ago.

Been lucky enough to run it twice.

As a pure running event it's not my favourite but in terms of overall atmosphere and emotion its unrivalled to anything I've done.

Just got back. 4.41. Hoped for sub 4.30 but missed it. As said above, not the best race for times, but unparalled for atmosphere and crowd involvement. Had my name on t shirt and people all the way round shouting it out.

A real life affirming event.

Oh,..Dave, what's occuring?

Took me 5 hours in 2008. Both my ITB's were fúcked, my right one started playing up at mile 3. Had to run walk the last 12 miles. I hit the wall around the embankment and phoned about 6 people. I can't remember a fûcking word I said to them 😂😂😂😂😂

I'm far too lazy to even think about doing something like that.

Fair play to those that do though

I want a mate like Flashberryjacks, who wears a Barnsley jersey with "Swans are my second team" on the back.

Ran it in 3.35 way back in 1984. I was probably wearing Dunlop Green Flash!... The body inevitably lets you down folks, make the most of it while it works properly.

Not as good as it sounds mind, as I didn't get into the race, so I just ran the course in the evening! But I'm still counting it.

Always planned to pay for a place when I'm 60, but now it's getting closer, I don't think so.

Well done.

In 2007
When I got to the turn at Buckingham Palace my the police officer let him run up to give me the Welsh Flag to cross the line.
So so emotional and drained but the best ever feeling you cannot explain

Likewise. I'm probably in the best shape I've been in since my teens at the moment, but the motivation to go any further just isn't there. I can live with average. But total respect (and a little envy) to those with the willpower to stick with their regimes and resist temptations. I just don't have it in me.

I have great admiration for all those who have done it.Brilliant achievement.

I get knackered driving 26 miles.

3-4 hours running 26 miles?

Or drive, taking 20-25 minutes giving you extra time to relax and do things.

Tough choice.

It was my first marathon yesterday and I was hoping for sub-5 and did it in 4:27 - apart from stopping a couple of times to hug the family I ran the entire thing. Very chuffed.

Hand on heart it was a wonderful, cathartic experience. I loved every minute of it, even mile 21 where you think "so close, yet so far".

Also got a wave from Colin Jackson and saw Ian Beale. Happy days :)

How you feeling today?

I had to walk backwards when putting cones out for a coaching session I did two days after when I did it

No I had a massage at my charity reception then a big hot soak when I got home - had enough pain by then so couldn't face the ice!

How did most of you get in,its been a pain trying to get in as a runner on your own,had a load of reject magazines over the years, and plenty of virgin jackets as well. The only way to get in now is to run for a charity and then you need to collect £500+ in most cases, thats harder to do than running in the thing!!
