Happy Article 50 day! (n/t) on 15:59 - Mar 29 by siralan | So if you wanted out of the EU you are a racist Are the remoaners ever going to stop spitting their dummy out? You can tell in the tone of their voice they are desperate for the negotiations to fail so they can say "told you so" putting their own pride before the national interest, which tells us everything we need to know about these types. Anyway 2 years from now and it will be done and dusted but I bet the pathetic remoaners will still be trying to put the country down. |
I voted remain and have no problem with the result. Lets hope they put the people first

I'm still pîssed off about the mass of virtue signaling cūnts who clogged London up on Saturday, resulting in me and the lovely one not being able to have a sit down meal. I could have two footed some prick carrying a placard about, given that he looked like he had either/both a double barreled surname and a trust fund from Schroeders. Bunch of pricks. I voted remain too, but it is what it is...

Not sure that's fair, really. Loads of people complain that "nobody cares anymore", "everyone is naive and willfully ignorant". I don't think we should belittle others who speak out in favor of what they believe, whether it's right or wrong. It shooukd be encouraged if anything.

I just find it seems to be 'hipster' and 'trendy' to do these things and the impact of such demonstrations seems to have been watered down...in my opinion of course.

I never said all leave voters are racist Why is the EU vote turning into some sort of working class rage? This Country could turn very ugly if (when) the NHS doesn't get extra funding, immigration levels barely shift, old Industries don't come back and some people are still richer than you. Don't come crying in the future, it's your time. Own it.

This is the thing, as pointed out in the Newsnight piece last night. And as Loh says, confidence in the political classes is already at a low. If people find out they've been duped again, 'bigly', and there's no way back, what then? Who do we then blame? Who rises up to fill that gap is the mainstream parties are completely discredited? If things get worse, what does that disillusionment turn into? Interesting times.

Happy Article 50 day! (n/t) on 18:09 - Mar 29 with 1601 views | MJC | A ridiculous post. Scotland, a country with a highly-devolved legislature, will have its entire infrastructure dependent on the EU and its workers. Does the NHS in Scotland not rely on EU workers? Does social care in Scotland not rely on EU workers? Does transport in Scotland not depend on EU workers? Does Scottish culture and tourism, education and research not benefit from being part of the EU? I mean, I could list all the devolved competencies and the answer would be 'yes'

Happy Article 50 day! (n/t) on 20:47 - Mar 29 with 1531 views | sherpajacob | Negotiations not started well. Mrs May happy to use our security and safety as a bargaining chip. In her letter to Mr Tusk triggering Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty, Mrs May said failure to reach a trade deal within the two-year time limit could "weaken" cooperation in the fight against crime and terrorism. But Guy Verhofstadt, the European Parliament's chief Brexit negotiator, said he would not accept any attempt to "bargain" between trade and security, adding: "I think the security of our citizens is far too important to start a trade off from one for the other."

Happy Article 50 day! (n/t) on 08:58 - Mar 29 by trampie | Brexit is a "significant and material change" not just for Scotland but Northern Ireland also, they are both getting dragged out of the EU against the peoples wishes in those countries. In time, Scotland might breakaway and N.Ireland might merge with the Republic of Ireland all on the back of Brexit, hence today might not only be the breaking up of the EU day but the breaking up of the UK day also. |

Played a big part? Less applications from UK especially Wales. So precisely how much part has Brexit played in it? Years ago, when the universities merged, 700 staff applied for voluntary redundancy - clearly they must have see Brexit ahead! Brexit will now get the blame for everything. A mate claimed it was doom and gloom because Lloyd's of London was moving to Brussels! Apart from the fact it wasn't despite the deliberately pessimistic BBC headlines...

Why isn't this the fault of Brexit? The Uni gets a lot of students from the EU, the local area is awash with them. They have come out themselves and said it's down to Brexit. You've quoted that vvanker Blue and I've no idea what the silly kunt has said by the way.

We benefited both in Net funding increases and foreign student numbers - both will be hit. There will be winners and losers, I suspect more losers but that's my opinion.
