FA Cup - Sign Of The Times... 16:58 - Dec 7 with 7271 viewsHooped_Pullie

Now on the Offish that our tie against Blackburn will be a traditional 3pm Saturday kick-off on FA Cup 3rd round weekend, £10 for ST holders, £15 for the rest.

So far so good - and the Saturday 3pm K.o. is certainly welcome - but it is also announced that all of Ellerslie and half the School End will be closed for the game. When we played Sheffield United of the third tier just two years ago, I recall the whole place was open (I remember it well, as it gave me a very rare opportunity to return nostalgically to my old ST seat).

Should we even bother competing ? Have the club given up on the 'magic of the FA Cup' ? I can understand closing parts of the ground for a friendly, or midweek early-round league cup stuff against lower league opposition. But Saturday 3pm against a team from our own division ? Are we properly on our way out, or what ?

You have 3 more chances to avoid paying the booking fee. They are the Derby,Villa and ipswich home games.

villa on a sunday, derby on a Wednesday are no can do games for yours truly
I go to games when I can these days and they have to be on a Saturday , if the club really wanted bums on seats they would go out of there way for this game but they don't want to , also why should fans of clubs accept booking fees its a con,
a couple of years back we played Mk Dons in the cup and the tickets I think were a fiver all round ( I could be wrong it may be kids a fiver adults all a tenner )
the place was pretty much packed out , why cant we do that again ??
lee hoos talks a good game about attracting new fans and getting kids involved and making it a memorable experience and doing things different to other London clubs , well here is a game he could do something with yet we are doing nothing

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

Actually, tickets that day v MKD were...

Platinum Area Prices: £20 Adult, £10 Junior Under-16, £15 Senior Over-60/Young Adult 16-21.

All Other Area Prices: £15 Adult, £5 Junior Under-16, £10 Senior Over-60 / Young Adult 16-21, Disabled / Ambulant £10 (carer free of charge), Under 8 — Free of charge when accompanied by a full paying adult, ID required and must be purchased prior to matchday

So, basically the same, except ST holders get a better deal this time.

Next!

Bare bones.

The difference is that £20 seemed like a good deal then because we were paying £40+ for premier league games. And we were expected to wipe the floor with a league 1 side. How wrong we were.

Er... if anyone expected us to wipe the floor with a league one side they hadn't watched much of us either that season or in the cup the previous 15 years or so!
Actually, cheap tickets that day may have turned out to be a terrible mistake long term - who would come back after watching that classic 'performance'?

Bare bones.

I've just remembered my sons second birthday is that week so no doubt the wife will want his little birthday party on the 7th and therefore..I'm out.

I would have gone otherwise. I guess this will be the same for me now for the next few years until he's old enough to come with.

Don't forget the away side has to agree any reduced ticket price as the receipts are split for cup games.
