If you had to pick one or the other who would you go for. I dont know much about our new signing but remember him and Ghana giving Germany a tough game in the World Cup. Andre gets my vote.
That's the only possible answer until probably at least the end of next season isn't it? One thing I do remember is Hull crowing about their signings last summer and how they'd moved to the 'next level', then creaming themselves over Dame Doye.
Bit early to crow.
So anyway, I'm happier with Mr Ayew myself. Cock a doodle bloody doo .....
I think they are different type of players so it's hard to compare. Sure ayew can play striker but I don't think he will here. He is more like support (like routledges role in the new formation). But Aslong as ayew helps with assists and gets some goals for himself then it will be worth it. Hopefully gomis can keep up with his end of season form. And we still have players like Ki and Gylfi who can help create those goal scoring chances.
Ings won't cut it at Liverpool. From Suarrez to Ings via Lambert and Balotelli in 12 months. Brilliant.
Yes you hit the nail on the head there mate. Brendan has now invested in 3 average strikers in a bid to replace 1 world class one. A decision that has already cost Pascoe his job and will be his own downfall as well.

Brilliant summing up of Liverpool's strike force
Not sure about Ings. I would have loved to see him here as a back up to Bafe. Only time will tell. But as Andre is ours, then I want Andre to be runner up in the Golden boot award. Bafe to win it!!
If you wake up breathing, thats a good start to your day and you'll make many thousands of people envious.
I would have loved to see Ings here also as I think he's got potential, but that was never going to happen.
If I was a Liverpool fan, I would be underwhelmed. For a probably similar financial outlay, they've got a 22-year old uncapped striker who has potential but has only had one good Championship and one good PL season.
We've got a 25-year old with 62 international caps who has played at 2 World Cups and has scored double figures in 4 out of 5 seasons in Ligue 1, while also playing in 28 European games over the years.
On paper, I think Ayew is the better signing, but only time will tell.
You know, Hobbes, some days even my lucky rocket ship underpants don't help.
Think we have to be patient with Ayew, we didn't really cut Bony much slack and Gomis was given even less, no pressure on Ayew but if he doesn't score a hat-trick on the first day then he's crap ;0)

He's no Leon Knight if he doesn't score a hat-trick on his debut...

Ings could easily turn out to be a another one season wonder. He wouldn't be the first player to come up the PL score a dozen or so goals in his first season then never come close again. *cough*Danny Graham*cough*
If you can fill the unforgiving minute.
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
I wish we did personalised goal music for when a player scores - daddy cool for Wilf would have been excellent. This would be good too. We Will Rock You for Michu, etc.

I thought we cut Wilf loads of slack - he did very little for 1/2 a season and we didn't get on his back. He even acknowledged it. Then when he'd found his feet he went goal crazy.

"Where did you go to my lovely" may be more apt for Michu.
I've watched a lot of both players (and as someone said above, they don't play the same position). Ings is a goal scoring forward - clutch in the box. I like him very much. I would have preferred him (but the value proposition was probably lacking).
Ayew is going to play LMF for us. If you watch him at Marseille or even with Ghana going back to 2009 U20s, he's a LMF occasionally popping up top. Ayew is strong, pacey (but not as quick as Montero), he's very left-footed. He's a good player (can dribble, pass, shot, cross), but he's prone to take on too much. He's going to make a lot of mistakes. We're going to have to be patient for his moments of brilliance surrounding by moments of frustration.
The Ghana player that I would have preferred is Asamoah Gyan - he's a true goal scoring forward.

Didn't he get done for sacrificing his mate, or have I dreamt that?
