Cheltenham Festival 15:00 - Mar 11 with 1941 viewsHannibal_de_Seaside

Messrs Mullins and Walsh had a wonderful day yesterday, and it could have been even better had not Annie Power fallen at the last when cruising to victory in the 4:00. I always thought that horses only fell over hurdles if they were duffers, had a duff jockey or were hampered. Annie Power is a class act, Ruby Walsh is the most successful jockey ever at the Cheltenham festival according to Channel 4, and the horse was clear in front. In the paper this morning it said that bookies would have lost £100 million had Annie Power won.

Hmmm.

Willie Mullins trained the winner of the second race today, Ruby's had a third and two also rans in the first three races so not quite as strong as day 1.

Paul Nichols trained the 9-1 winner of the third race today and has Dodging Bullets (who beat Sprinter Sacre last time out) in the big race coming up. Would be a brilliant double for him, but Sprinter Sacre looks a different beast that came in second at Ascot, could well be back to his best.

Breaking news - Ruby Walsh isn't riding in the big race. He said if he could be on any horse it would be Dodging Bullets, and having ridden him in that race at Ascot he thinks Sprinter Sacre is "past it".
