It's Groundhog day!!
at 22:22 22 Feb 2025

Do you actually think they are reading this? I'm just an old fart who has been watching Saints since the early 70's as well as some games in the 60's and afraid not the sort of character to start ranting and raving and getting 1000's of people together and organise all of these "protests" at the club that you want (and needs to happen) to let them know how we all feel
But maybe you and Southampton Fan are? I don't know. But if so is there anyone that can start getting this ball on the road and formalise demonstrations or whatever to let them know how the real people on the street feel about what is happening to OUR club
I's just that I've not seen any sign of this

As Grumps has said, why on earth did we get Groenbaek in then?
Baffling to say the least but the way this season has gone, nothing is surprising now

Rohl well beaten

I'm gearing with the Steve Cooper brigade, at least he's done well (ish at times) in the Champ and Prem.
But no matter who comes in, or even if Juric stays, we need the players capable of playing at those levels!

Burnley trounced Wednesday 4-0 tonight. At least they only scored 1 against us!

Have Southampton Fans Finally Lost Faith With The Club
at 11:21 20 Feb 2025

I think that does pretty well sum up the majority of fans inc me with an almost apathy towards the whole situation due to the ineptitude of the powers that be.

We have been in absolute dire situations before and particularly remember the 2005 relegation and a guy at work (MU fan!) started to take the pi55 (he worked under me but in a small company) and I just told him to shut the fuk up in a serious tone. He could see how thoroughly depressed I was and then hid in a corner somewhere as he realised how much it hurt

We were also only a couple of points adrift and by no means not the worst GD.This season God knows how far adrift we'll be!

Somehow this season I don't think I will be as depressed because it is totally accepted now by all, inc the players quite clearly, that we are going down. At least last time I thought we stood a chance of coming straight back up again (oh well, wrong again), but this time I believe we'll be down for quite a while unless there is a serious change of direction with the club

So I haven't lost faith with the club, but I have lost faith with the ownership and all that is happening with the club at the moment

Was it wrong to dispense with RM this season?
at 14:41 18 Feb 2025

All very well getting another manager in, which could also be a car crash and who's to say incoming will be better that IJ, but the main (obvious) problem is the quality of the players we have and then getting them to play to a system that actually works to the required quality. Steve Cooper? Danny Rohl? Who knows .............

The whole club will require a massive kick up the arris in the close season with a strong manager coming in (Juric as has been said is probably not the right guy purely based on what us mere mortals can see with team selection and substitutions etc but will he walk before being pushed or will he want to give it a go?), and an overhaul of the playing staff with a few unknown nuggets maybe (?) but preferably those with knowledge on how the Championship works

Ultimately it's down to recruitment both on and off the pitch that needs to be looked at. But by who??

Just pick a "sport" and I'm sure it'll be the same everywhere. Win at all costs seems to be the way now

Didn't want to mention that one as they're in with good chance of going up, just a shame they can hardly score more than the odd goal!

Pretty good summary taken from one of the Echo online comments after Bree has said things can't get any worse

"Unless and until we get an NC or Peter Kenyon type CEO with a clear cut vision to improve in every area, even mattresses, then we are truly dead in the water.

It wasn't luck it was pulling everything together, there will be bumps in the road, Paards won a cup but was expected to get promotion, we should have won the Championship and Kat should have stayed out of the picture, nonetheless until her last mega fall out with NC we were flying and as Wenger, SAF, Bruce, MoPo all stated we were the best team they played in 2012/2013, everyone was on board.

It was an era of three steps forward and an occasional step back, now it is full retreat and not a single battle won except by sheer luck.

We can accept set backs as long as the direction of travel is overall onwards and upwards.

SR keep taking cheap options in place of a defined mission to get on the front foot, managers, player choices, what was the point of Archer, Lallana, Frazer, why lose Alcaraz, I mean it's left right and centre atrocious decision making, any good 'uns have been sold, it's crazy in technocolour.

Get as close as you can to an NC and start afresh.

Will you renew your season ticket next season?
at 13:56 16 Feb 2025

I often wondered about these polls you see on tv or in the press asking all sorts of questions with people's views that are supposed to be the general view of the whole population. But they only ask about 1000-1500 "random" people but apparently representing 50-60 odd million of us

So only getting a dozen or so answers on here must therefore be representative on the 28k ish regular Saints fans (who actually go to games)

So 80% renewing/getting an ST next season is probably good news for SR??

Or, just thinking out loud, what if the likes of Nick and other top brass on all Saints forums got together to ask some questions of the club directly and express the views that probably 90% of all Saints fans are thoroughly pi55ed off with the way OUR club is being run?

Unfortunately the only message the board will get is that if there are more that will renew their ST than don't by a considerable margin they won't give a sh1t
Mind, it's unlikely they ever look at these boards to find out the general opinions
