Have been very lucky and in some cases not so lucky to meet in no particular order: Tony Blair Shinzo Abe Laskmi Mittel Flavio Briatore Bernie Ecclestone Prince Edward Sir Les Jim Gregory Eric Bristow Paul Weller Brian O'Driscoll Andy Farrell Sit Trevor McDonald Baldrick Michael Caine (not many people know that) Boy George Timothy Spall Martin Chivers Ayrton Senna Michael Schumacher Damon Hill Topper Headon Norman Watt Roy David Weir Bryan Cranston Sir Geoff Hurst Numerous QPR players, Danny Shittu among the nicest. Few more I forget and a ecletic bunch.
Finally one person I never want to meet again. Stood on my own watching my son playing cricket and he gets to bowl the final over. Group of parents from the oppostion standing in awe as Gary Lineaker plays court. He very loudly says to the group, watch this, my son George will cream this kid. My lad clean bowls him so I couldnt resist calling out, well bowled son, lucky the Lineakers are better at football. Horrible arrogant person.
can't believe this thread.... if Spurs buy Eze for £80 million we will say 'no' to the £15 million and instead take their current incarnations of Sandro and Amos on 5 year deals.
Hi Juzzie - as others have already said get in a good employment lawyer. had a constuctive dismissal recently, person was willing to walk away with 1 months money. A few legal letters later and it became six months money plus bonus due. Company had to cover all legal bills as well.
As is usual in life, its the big major companies who will do everything to avoid paying when they are in the wrong. Smaller companies on the other hand usually cannot afford the legal fees, fighting union reps etc and end up paying even if they are on the receiving end.
passed 11+ at a canter, went to posh grammar and hated it. Passed 7 O-levels and dismally failed both English Language & Literature. My English teacher, Crispian Pickles (true!), told me to never work in any profession that involved 'English'. Started a magazine in 1985 and its been a lifestyle business ever since. As others have said, if you work hard, learn from those that know thats a good way to go. Way too much emphahsis is put on qualifications.
I have a friend who drinks with a lad, whose girlfriend works in the same building as the FL, she overheard one of the FL's temps talking on the mobile saying QPR's opening three fixtures are going to be Millwall Away followed by Southampton and Ipswich at home.
hi wombat, most advise already on here, there is a designer store right by the ponte vechio, has amaizing views at the top and was free. Toilets well posh too, added bonus after walking around for hours! Eat in the 'local' places, you may well have to queue, book, much better than Burger King! Enjoy.
Not doomed and having consumed an Aldi bottle of wine this morning I am happily looking forward to the day we have our bright shiny new stadium and the half time entertainment is Lblock eating a hat. Probably not going to happen in my lifetime but then this is the QPR I love, Wembley 67, 81, Bobby Zamora day, I even recall winning in the FA Cup. Be brave Neil and give a few of our kids a run out - only way to find out if they can step up.
always worth putting a feeler or two out. If you zoom in on Google maps you can see a football pitch marked out and its around a 1/3 to a 1/4 of the total plot so plenty big enough. Time to call on your old mucker Mr Slaughter.
Latymer Upper School's (private school I believe) playing fields are miles away from the actual school itself in Fulham. - But only hundreds of yards from LR, site must be double the footprint of LR. Make them an offer?
Naturally would have to insist the Pavillion has more than 3 barstaff on a match day!
Much as I like Dunne and Dickie all the while we are winning we stick with our best team. Same with Tim over Dozzell and Amos and Laird over Ossie. If we do go up to the premiership and then finish bottom we will still earn around £100 million. Thats around 5 Eze's and a whole lot more than we would get for Balogun, JCS, Dunne & Dickie all added together.
went there circa 10 years ago with two sons. All had our QPR shirts on and no bother. In the front row of the top tier which was very quiet, despite a 4-1 thumping of Deportivo. A few locals starting doing the paper airplane thing so we turned around and sung shall we sing a song for you. Was actually well received. Its an amazing stadium just keep an eye on the weather, top tier in the rian is no fun.
