| Forum Reply | Ashby injured or hooked? at 05:47 22 Jan 2025
I understood those substitutions. We were well in control at that point with a 2-goal cushion. I thought this was a great chance for Madsen & Ashby to redeem themselves and be lifted by everyone else playing well around them. I.e. perhaps Marty saw this as an opportunity to kickstart those two. Ashby especially we might need as with JCS out again, there is no backup in the back four. I personally would not want to see Field drop back again out of need. Madsen is the one I am most disappointed with. Really want him to do well, but he just looks like his heart is not into it. |

On the subject of needing a break, you often hear players say in interviews that they are looking forward to the break (like Fox let slip the other day). Almost as if they now also believe themselves this is the way. I don't quite buy into it either. I would think a hard day of training would be just as tough, if not tougher, than an actual game? Physically, at least. What I would find a drag as player is to tag along on these away trips just to sit on the bench, which many do. Then I would much rather give a player a day off to just be busy with something else if it was a "rotation" selection. |

In hindsight, the players that left us in the summer were all "good business". Not least because we got money for them. And I really like the attitude (confirmed by CN recently) that if you're into you're 20's and still in the dev squad, you're not going to make it with us. Willock on a good day could perhaps still have played a part, but all the others have been replaced by better options. Kakay arguebly better than Santos, but neither would get a look into the squad as it is now. Also interesting (a relief) to see that no-one that has left and made an impact or progress elsewhere. The opposite in some cases. |

cheers. odd that the almost most expensive seats in the house has this restriction. I'm guessing its not a total blocking post and easy to see past? |

Confirmed, Sainz banned for 6 games. Still think its quite light for spitting at someone. |

I asked a mate in Sydney who goes to every single home game of Sydney FC and follows the Aussie league passionately. His response: "Interesting choice. Brisbane have not won a game this season. Far, far better strikers than him in the league. I'm not sure what someone is seeing that we're not. No, I don't really get it" |

I don't think we should be looking at more loans. Edwards was an emergency with two CB's out and two more with injury reputations. No complaints about that. But all other positions a loan would get in the way of developing our own players. We specifically bought younger players to fit the resale model. And with that seemingly heading in the right direction, lets keep it going. Maybe a cover at LB, but otherwise I would think incoming players should be permanent signings boosting the squad and/or longer term options, not stop-gap solutions which we are not in dire need for at the moment. |

Can I just make the general conclusion that the more expensive the ticket, the better the view? Recommendations for areas to sit? I was thinking as low down as possible on the upper tier of the main stand as close to midway as possible. They also seem to be the most expensive at 38 quid. But since this might be a once in a lifetime experience, I am willing to fork out whatever is needed to make the most of it. Plenty of tickets still available for tonight vs Luton, so I am pretty sure we'll get tickets for Derby. |

Christmas present for the kids, we're taking them to London for a few days during their Feb school holidays (15-23 Feb). Only QPR home game in that period is Friday the 14th. No ticket information yet, but should we be able to get tickets for a family of 4? For that day we need to take the kids a day out of school also, so if you guys think tickets will be a problem, we might as well pick dates later in the window. Have to book flights and hotel soonish. |

I’m getting a bit worried someone puts in a cheeky 5m bid we can’t refuse. Take it a notch down and lie low for a while, Jimmy. |

You could also argue we were unlucky early season to drop points due to worldies scored against us and/or up against keepers playing out of their skins, which now has subdued, luckily. Where Marti does deserve credit, is for recognising that plan A is not working and changing it around to at least get results and buy us some breathing space. Perhaps now with less stress of being at the bottom of the pile, key players slowly returning from injury and new signings starting to bed in, he will slowly start changing towards his preferred style of play. I think the changes at the start of the season were just too many too soon, take a step back, re-evaluate and see from there. I think when/if we sign someone in January, that might be an indication of the direction we are heading into. I also think/hope higher up there was a hard lesson learned about assembling a money-ball squad and expect everything to just fire straight away. Its a process. [Post edited 19 Dec 2024 11:22]

depends on what grade of tear, but with proper treatmeant, could be back in a few weeks. Hamstring usually responds well to treatment and heals well. Thigh eg is a nasty one. I’ve suffered both as rugby injuries. |
