I hope people get off John Colemans back. He should only be judged when we are in league 2. He has inherited a squad of players that are either not good enough, not motivated enough or not committed enough. He will know who those players are and they will be out of the door in a flash and i say good riddance to them. We can not question any of his loan signings as this is probabally all that has been at his disposal. Eyre did the damage and Eyre alone. o.k we are still relegated but i am pretty sure we will be sitting comfortabally in league 2 next season, with Eyre it would of been a slippery slope to who knows where. Relegation is a bitter pill to swallow but there is no point in fans bringing back the past or using hindsight against either the current management team or board of directors, who have served our club well over the last few years. I am not saying that JC et al are the ticket, i am just saying give them a chance and hopefully we will reap some reward next season, if he can gel together a team with heart then thats a team worth supporting. | Forum Thread | Brett Ormerod- until the end of the season at 22:45 3 Jan 2012
Apparantley Brett was originally going to sign in November but Holloway decided to keep him. Anyway the article suggests that Brett may have opportunities to stay until the end of the season if everything goes well for him. Anyway reading the fans comments they are pleased for both Daniel and Brett and feel that they have a lot to offer. In fact they are hoping that we get them going for Blackpool's promotion push. I am really excited about the introduction of these calibre of players, forget the age. Chris Beech is a legend in my eyes already and has filled us with optimism for the future. A good point gained today by the Beach Boys. In fact that is one point more than Keith Hills reign began with. Lets hope we can push on from here. |
| Forum Thread | Who would manage us then? at 22:15 13 Dec 2011
It appears the majority of the fan base now wants Mr Eyre out and this has not changed too much since October. However who do we think we could realistically bring in to manage the team, the club has been destroyed over the last few months and our reputation has seriously been dented. Would anyone really want the job now? Unfortunatley a lot has changed since the summer and what potentially was a great job would be looked upon as a graveyard job. i don't get to enough matches to give reason as to our demise but i look at the players brought in and most are quality signings on paper. i remember being very optimistic. Could anyone enlighten me as to what has happend to David the Angolan defender, i thought he had trained for the last seven weeks before signing. He must be up to match fitness. |
| Forum Thread | When will this team find its level? at 21:55 12 Nov 2011
As it stands it is clear that a Steve Eyre Rochdale team are no where near the level required to play First division football. What is most disturbing is that we have now been beaten by a mediocre second division team and a very poor second division team. Unfortunatley due to geography, money and family commitments i only get to a handful of matches a season. This season only Exeter. I was just curious what do you guys think our level is as of cause you will have a better idea. Are we really going back to Steve Parkin days? (second spell) |
