It'll be interesting to see what they do as ideally all three should be out on loan respectively next season - whether that is 6 months or a year?!

I'd be sending Salamon out for at least 6 months hopefully L2 or higher but contradicting myself maybe a national league side to rough him up abit.

The interesting conundrum comes with Walsh and Mahoney, I think Walsh is higher in the pecking order but do they believe he is ready to be No1 at a championship club? If not sitting on the bench all season isn't going to make him ready to be No1?

Transfer rumours 2024
at 12:58 18 Jun 2024

As a Welshman, I've seen Joe play a lot for the national team and wouldn't believe this particular rumor. Most of his career has been played out at L1 level and lower, for reference he's like a Josh Scowen - won't let anyone down and very committed but limited. He's been injured alot over the last year or so and struggled for regular game-time at L1 level and has been replaced by Jordan James in the international set up who has looked a different class to Joe.

I'd imagine this is just classic clickbait stuff and our scouting team will be looking at better options and maybe talent in other leagues.

I think the cleanse is a good idea, have a development core; who you hope will make it and supplement it with U18's and 1st teamers needing game time - like the old reserves used to be.

If offers have been made we need to sell him, find the best offer and negotiate sell ons bonus payments etc this is hopefully where Noury comes into life! Much has been written about his agent pushing for more money on shortish contracts.

As others have said he does have attributes but is really raw and if hes unwilling to commit after the opportunities hes been afforded then sadly its goodbye.

Bicycle stolen from work: Advice needed

Thank you all for the help and advice, my work although not admitting fault or blame have agreed to contribute £300 to the cost of a new bike so given my pessimism over the situation this is probably the best result i could have hoped for.

Bicycle stolen from work: Advice needed
at 12:17 5 Jun 2024

Afternoon all,

I've seen some threads prior when people have needed advice so I thought I'd ask for help from the group! My bicycle was stolen from work on Sunday through a fire exit that had been left open. The bike has always been stored in this corridor as its been safer than leaving it outside. I've never locked it(i know this will be my downfall) as their is enough traffic through that corridor normally... and i have no other safe place to store the bike. We have CCTV of a man entering the building and 6 minutes later cycling off with my bike.

I've tried ringing CAB but was on hold for 30 odd minutes. I'm about to ring my home and contents insurer but I've already resigned myself to them not paying out and I don't believe my employer will either even though it was one of their employees that left the fire-door open.

Any advice would be welcome as I'm going to be out of pocket some £900

I think as has been mentioned it should be a cohesion of both - promote the most talented U18's while scouring talent that has been let go from other academies whilst lowering the age group for the development phase. Some might call it streamlining as we have carried too many players that aren't going to make it or you could call it creating a genuine pathway into the first team for the most talented.

So from my point of view, their isn't a one size fits all model. If you look at MC they loan out some of their players further down the pyramid and others like Foden they are on record as stating that they thought he was better off staying and training with the likes of De bruyne.

For our lot, I think we have kept some of the current crop too long knowing they arent good enough - at 20-22 if you aren't getting close to the first team or a loan at L1/L2 then you should be gone.

They need to be pushing the U18's into the development squads earlier(like Tuck) then once their sourcing suitable loans to aid their development. The gap between development and first team should be closer and has been seen isnt that close at the moment.

Choosing suitable loans aswell is equally important so they get gametime in a team playing a suitable style. Didnt we send Mcnulty(might be his name) to Crawley and he didn't play!

Tuck I'm really keen to see more of; obviously being biased. I do hope he comes good in a hooped shirt and will be watching the tournament this summer, he's not 18 yet though is he?

Sutton I think looked a beast, if its the same lad from the development game that i watched the other day.

Fingers crossed for those hopefully making the step up in Ahora, Salamon, Kolli.

Manisha Taylor

I read she has now departed after 8 years and countless different roles within the youth set up. Best of luck Manisha!

Is this a case of casting off the dead wood or her going off to bigger and better things? I've read that they are looking at revamping the youth set up, is she a casualty?

Lets hope they are streamlining slightly and looking at that next generation!

Good to hear Danny, from the little I've seen from clips and cameos he looks a good prospect. What is his position though, I've read some people consider him as a forward and others more of an old 10?

Aston, I know their isn't a thread on it so i thought I'd ask - did you manage to catch the development game today? I saw the score and the trialists but any good?

Transfer rumours 2024
at 18:11 7 May 2024

It was me!

I saw it on BBC and thought WOW, I know they only just finished above us and that he has constantly been injured but I've always thought that their is talent in him. Field, JCS and others have been crocks before they came to us and if he could get the right TLC maybe it could be the fresh start he needs - footie manager style of performance/appearance based clauses.

I think Marti and his team will have a few off the cuff foreign players/markets in mind a la Andersen and the data team will chip in but I think it would be a sensible risk. #armchairfan

So...

Thoughts? Tyresse Campbell has just been released by Stoke, woth a gamble? Pacey and direct when fit? If our medical team can work wonders with JCS and Field who was previously struggling at WBA

Anyway always liked what ive seen of him.

Squad contracts
at 16:09 11 Apr 2024

Thats a week squad with hopefully lots of wiggle room to pad it out, i'm not clued up enough anymore to know who we bring in but if we can supplement some solid pros with Ahora, kolli etc

I'd be interested to see who comes in for those sold players! But it would give us some capital to spend!!

So by your calculations we'd need:

A new No1

2 RB
1 CB

1/2 CM's
2 Wingers/wide forwards

2 Strikers

Armstrong New Contract ?
at 12:55 10 Apr 2024

Just to add to the debate, Alfie Lloyd is also the same age as Sinclair and is currently not even close to making the step up; Pedder is 22(i think)

Development is different for everyone, some like Walcott burst through at a young age, others like Dieng was a lot older when he made his bow for us. Its not a one size situation and some of our players will naturally find their level further down.

I've not seen enough of him to really give an educated opinion just echo what a few others have said that, this probably isn't the season to judge him and a summer of proper coaching possibly followed by a loan would be a great opportunity to hone/showcase his talents in hopefully an Eze/Chair type situation. That is if we can find him the right loan and get a forward in ourselves!!

A shame with EDB as from the little i saw he was an upgrade on what we had, admittedly not as good as Hayden but something to work on.
