Well complaint still is about the shoddy way they handled the whole thing and wasted millions doing so, obviously if they saved lives it's a good thing but I've yet to see the evidence. I have noticed quite a few deaths on Welsh roads since this though so I'd really like to know. |

Can you clarify your last sentence, it could be taken as being racist. Asian or not those people are British but if you are making a dig at them for not being white... |
| Forum Reply | Second BREXIT Referendum at 18:29 24 Dec 2024
Well the UK is the only Sovereign nation and the 4 members of that union are there with the blessing of the majorities of their electorate, none of the 4 nations has yet had a majority demanding to leave so unsurprisingly, you are wrong again...oh and a hypocrite too. How many nations can you name that didn't come about by force of arms? AHhhh, you were talking about nations, well the UK is a nation, a siovereign nation recognised by and a member of the United Nations, which Wales is not. |

I don't know where "they" put "their" fingers but if I watched it I'm sure it would make me weep. Or have my tea up anyway. |

Really, it's nothing to do with an inept decision made by a new government that business was saying would have a bad outcome from the moment it was made public? You need to take your blinkers off, there is a lot more going on than you are seeing. |
| Forum Reply | New York subway fire murder at 18:12 24 Dec 2024
I saw the story but hadn't read the full details. It's horrifying that a human being can do this to another, even worse that they think he didn't even know her and it was just a random barbarous act. I couldn't stand, or sit idly by. Those people that did, was it because they feared this obviously dangerous man would attack them and maybe he was carrying a gun? Otherwise how can you explain it? |
| Forum Reply | Ospreys at 17:58 24 Dec 2024
It needed change, agreed BUT it was the manner of the change that was the problem. If we were to have regions they should have had proper regions and not left Cardiff and Llanelli alone. I have heard this many times from proper rugby fans, fans who choose not to follow a region too. They say we should have left the clubs to stand in a league structure and put 2, maybe 3 regions in with the clubs based in those regions feeding the senior side. The suggestion was to Have South East and South West Wales, some felt we should have a region covering the rest of Wales but based up North. What the WRU did was half assed, it pandered to Cardiff and the Turks but really cheesed off most other rugby fans. It has nothing to do with a negative mindset either, the rugby fans wanted better but were given dross, the negative mindset belonged to the WRU who even now, when talking about ditching a region never suggest Cardiff or Llanelli but always talk about the other two and one of them is historically the most succesful region, the Ospreys. The chaos created by the WRU has taken root in the national team too, as we see with it's worst ever run ongoing. Welsh rugby fans have every right to be negative right now. The WRU created this mess and the fans can do nothing about it besides stay away, which it seems they are. |

And why do they do that? Maybe because it makes it easier to "adjust" data and give the "right" results. My by now deeply ingrained cynicism towards all things politic may be showing through |
| Forum Reply | The folly of selecting Grimes at 17:44 24 Dec 2024
I've met Grimes, had a brief chat with him about Martin, he doesn't seem the type to stand up to the manager, not to me. he came across as more of a yes man. I really would love to be proved wrong and he's at the managers door voicing the squads concern whenever needed.. |

3-4000, yeah, time will tell. Fans on here have been supporting the Ospreys move, well mostly anyway. One poster always attacks them for their move. If the Ospreys end up regularly locking fans out, they may be able to extend a bit, add another 3k on maybe. I don't know, I am guessing but it doesn't seem as wild a suggestion as some others. If Coleman tries to rinse them then they may just say to heck with you and go to Llanelli or stay at St Helens which costs the Swansea.com even more money, it's not really a bright idea. They'd come back here to make more profit, not to be rinsed. |

As far as I can see there is only one person who still iuses "yank" or "yanks" and that is you. Pretty much everybody else has moved on and is giving the new regime its fair chance. The trust again, you always attack the trust even when there is no apparent justification. On a previous thread you reckoned they'd paid a pittnace for it, I can't remember the number you guessed at though, possibly 3 million? It's all guesses though. You do love to tell us stuff but at least this time you have put a disclaimer in, just in case it is complete bs. |

I don't think McB is an LW kind of player, he's too aggressive, he takes chances. That's not what we are, we are a soft touch. I don't think Oli would enjoy playing for us now. |
| Forum Reply | The folly of selecting Grimes at 19:21 23 Dec 2024
I have moaned on here before about the things you mention. The slowness of pass, the speed of thought of Grimes that usually ends up with a negative pass and that same speed of thought that means that good attacking chances are missed as the oppo has time to adjust. People always crack on about how highly rated Grimes is by others outside the club yet nobody has ever tried to buy him. He's happy and settled here I have read, well plenty of happy and settled players have moved in the past just not when nobody else wants them. The over reliance on safety is a big problem, specially when those safe passes are hardly safe and we gift the oppo chances. As you say, better to take the risks in the attack then in our own defence. |

Somebody on here described Labour as economically illiterate, turns out they may have a point. Rachel Reeves past life as an...ahem, economist is coming back to haunt her. |
| Forum Reply | Ospreys at 19:03 23 Dec 2024
This hasn't been the regions fault per se, this is because of how the WRU have handled the whole situation, they made a mess of it. It's the WRU who have ruined Welsh rugby, not the regions. The Ospreys have tried cheaper tickets, family tickets, they tried several things to get the crowds in. Many rugby fans though, were not happy with the regions, the WRU tore up decades of history for several clubs and let 2 stand alone, Llanelli and Cardiff, which generated bad feeling. Neath and Swansea were never great bedfellows and playing all the games in Swansea does rankle with Neath fans with many choosing to follow the amaruer side. You continue to call it shrinkage but lets wait and see, if it turns out to be a good move I'll be looking forward to your take on it then. There is an old saying about "cutting your cloth" and I believe this is what the Ospreys are doing. It's not shrinkage, it's a reset. |

Johnson and Gove, anybody who believes a word they say is too gullible for words. Bojo is a chancer who used the brexit argument to rise up the greasy pole. Gove...the less said the better. They're politicians, they lie. It was never going to be an oven ready anything and we won't know for a long while yet. I agree with JohnLangy, we could easily be another decade away from seeing the full outcome. Hoopefully Starmer will manage to get a better deal this year, I don't want the political integration but trade should and could be easier, better, cheaper. |

In which case, anybody who lives, works and contributes to the UK is British, you may well have a different view but to deny that would be hypocrisy, we all pay our income tax to Westminster. |
| Forum Reply | Should we go to war at 18:40 22 Dec 2024
When you say in work time, do you know if they are doing things during lunch break or maybe they are working flexi time? My wife works from home, she walks the dogs during her lunch but she works on longer if she's late back. Her boss has said she's more productive at home than in the office. Though she does admit others in her office say they skive. I think it works both ways, Admiral have a lot of people working from home and they do alright with it. On the OP, I kinda agree with Kilky on this, if there is another proper war a lot of it will be fought by people on computers, people controlling drones/UAV's etc but as we see in Ukraine, there is still a need for boots on the ground. We'll still need infantry, pilots and sailors. The key thing will be getting that balance right and according to the military experts, right now our armed forces are too far below strength to be effective. If it goes nuclear then nothing will matter |
