Spot on. The owners know the fans will put up with it, so it carries on. And the fans who continue to allow this to carry on, don't seem to understand why it's carrying on!!! [Post edited 22 Feb 20:49]

I'm also a season ticket holder, but I'm not sure I can stomach getting thrashed in the next 5 or 6 home games that we have left. And I agree, I think we could be Luton this time next year. Getting over the hangover from this terrible season won't be easy. And we will have a completely different team next year - a bunch if strangers put together by Sport Republic. |

Apart from the obvious well done to those who keep turning up every week to be embarrassed, what iswrong with the fans? We cheer Ketchup like he's a hero. Didn't he go on strike, refuse to play, caused all sorts of problems for RM last season and the rest of it? He came on today, and got absolutely torn apart. The first goal was his fault. Last week, our fans booed Smallbone, the guy who scored in the playoffs last season, always gives his best, been through the youth team, loves the club and he gets stick. I seem to remember some idiot posting about him last year not having any hair. He's not a great player, but are any of them??? Yet, Mr. I'm on strike gets a heroes welcome. And then after a game we could easily have lost 10 nil, not a single bit of discontent against the people who are literally destroying the club. Do our fans not care? Arn't they angry? Well, apart from being very angry at one of our own. They certainly are at Spurs and Leicester. What club's fans would just put up with this every week? Perhaps the fans like the owners (after 2 relegations, 6 failed managers, 45 terrible signings), perhaps they think it's the managers fault, perhaps our fans are very very shy, perhaps they don't care. What an absolute mess. These owners are taking the p!ss. Thousands sat in the fans zones singing along with the band and buying drinks. Many of our lot, just don't care do they. It was very empty at the end. But not any sign of discontent against the owners. Huge protests at Leicester and Spurs. Nothing here, just silence. The fans are very shy. [Post edited 22 Feb 17:46]

Things won't be good off the pitch, if we stay in the championship for a few years. SR are terrible owners. 6 managers in what 3 years? Wasting millions on terrible players. 2 relegations in 3 years. I would have NC back in an instant. The culture then was about success and winning. The culture now is lose every week, who cares, let's build a theme park outside the ground. |

In the PL, every team has world class players. You can't have a fitter team or try a different way. Every club has the fittest players in the world, trained in state of the art training grounds, with the world's best facilities. You have to match that at the very least. If you have Championship players playing world class players, you can't compete. If you have players that try hard by just can't score, you won't win games. If we want to compete in the PL, and this is the same for all the promoted sides, you need to buy world class players. And then you appoint a decent manager to manage them. |

True - Ralph is doing a brilliant job there. He was thrown under the bus by SR, when they sold Ings, didn't replace him and then bought a load of under 20's from Man City reserves. You can't compete in the PL with players that arn't good enough. The recruitment has been terrible and that's made it impossible for the managers. Steve Cooper has experience of the Championship, promotion from it and he has managed in the PL, so would be the best appointment on paper, but Cooper knows what's needed to get promoted. He will make his demands, will ask for money to spend on the team, and not young players to make a profit, SR won't like it, and will go elsewhere. [Post edited 22 Feb 11:48]

With the three promoted teams getting relegated last season and the same thing happening again this season, it's really difficult to tell who is a good manager and who isn't. If the players arn't good enough, it's so tough for anyone to achieve the impossible. |

It does look like that. It happened last year too. That's two seasons in a row. The gap between the championship and PL is just too big. |

There were a lot of issues between the Itchen North and the away fans next to them in the Northam. They closed the Itchen North because of it. This meant lost revenue from closed sections and empty seats. They also had a lot of issues in Brittannia road where the away coaches used to park and the home fans from the Northam used to spill out onto the same road. Now, the away fans and coaches are well away from any home fans, and the home fans nearest them are the quiet ones. Things are much much calmer. Some might say that's a good thing, others not, as the atmosphere is much calmer. The club purposely encouraged the loud fans to buy the cheap standing tickets, the opposite end to the away support. Inevitably, fans are starting to get fed up and will gradually stop going. We are all fed up of losing every game. If this continues next season, attendances will drop dramatically I suspect. As for the Northam, both sides of the argument make valid points. It is definitely true that not being near the away fans dilutes the atmosphere. I can only give my own personal view, that being away from the away support makes things less interesting, boring even. I intend to move to the Chapel next season by the away fans. Both sets of fans definitely used to bounce of each other, and the surging of fans etc did make the place more hostile. We now have the other extreme where the fans either side of the away support do absolutely nothing. They sit there in silence. However, of course it's true that if Saints were winning games, you would have a whole end of Saints fans singing and a much better atmosphere. Ideally, having the standing section in the Chapel, with our noisiest fans still next to the away support would have been the best thing. But Frannies Tache is right. The club wanted the loud fans well away from the away fans to save on police costs and prevent any trouble. [Post edited 19 Feb 15:29]

Actually loved those nights standing on the terraces and cramped seats at Hartlepool, Dagenham, Colchester, Southend. Great times they were. Not a tourist in sight. Just proper honest football. [Post edited 17 Feb 12:57]

I hope I'm wrong, that we appoint Danny Rohl, regroup and do well next season. But, gut feeling is we will be a Luton next year. The aftermath of this embarrassing season (relegation number 2) won't be easy to deal with. It was easier to dismiss one relegation as a one off last time, regroup and give it a good go. This time the following players will almost certainly leave: Ramsdale, Walker-Peters, Fernanadez, Dibling, Downes, Harwood-Bellis, Bednerak, Ketchup, Suelemana. Then there are a few question marks, like Aribo, Armstrong but if I was made to present a shirt after a 5 nil defeat, I would want out. Anymore? That's a lot of players. To put together a completely new team, with 10 new players isn't easy, especially with our recruitment record. Plus getting rid of yet another manager. All I can see is chaos.. |

Exactly. They haven't been relegated. They beat us 5 nil. Their fans just have much higher expectations and demand success. Our fans clap the team after 10 defeats. [Post edited 16 Feb 15:35]

Huge protests at Tottenham. Thousands of fans demanding change. There are plans to get games abandoned, to force the owners out. At Saints - Absolutely nothing. Do our fans just not care as much? Not as passionate? [Post edited 16 Feb 15:27]

That's correct. We thrashed Brentford 4 1 at St Mary's, then unexpectedly got beat by Villa. It all went downhill from there. That's when SR took over and Ralph who took us to the top.of the league got blamed, when SR sold Ings and others that summer, replacing them with rubbish. |

There were quite a few empty seats around the place. Season tickets holders not turning up? At half time at 2 nil down, many who went off for their half time drink, didn't come back for the second half. Add to that, there were a few Bournemouth fans in the home end. I saw a few. There are also a lot of tourists in the PL. A few rows down from me, a load of Korean looking people were there taking pictures. They weren't wearing g anything Saints and just smiled, laughed and took photos when Saints conceded. |

That group represents the LGBTQ+, women's football, strawberry handwash in the toilets, better burgers brigade. Nothing wrong with that, but they won't be arranging any protests any time soon. |
