Leicester defeat a disaster??
at 17:49 24 Jan 2025

Similar stories with that fantastic Boro team that made both cup finals and got relegated, and with Neil Warnock's Sheff Utd.

Look, with Leicester, a few of us were annoyed and disappointed. That's all. I don't recall anybody, well anybody worth listening to, using the word "disaster". It just felt like a shame. And it is a shame, imagine us going away to this Man Utd team with them playing like this and us playing like this. What a moment that could have been.

There's five dads with teenage daughters among the home and awayers which is lovely to see. I sat and listened to the girls bury their dads for tactical knowledge at the back of the Coach and Horses in Norwich when predicting what the team would be.

Watford fan at work reckons Cleverley is toast. Made a few prickly press conference comments about January transfer activity so that’s the end of him.

“What’s wrong with him Billy?”

“Nothing, that was us, we misused him. Can I say it’s done in principle and start drawing the paperwork?”

But it is, again, an example of a club grabbing a shiny thing with zero research or due diligence. You don't need to look too deeply into this one to know you don't touch that guy with a shitty stick - anybody in the Crown & Sceptre could tell you that. And yet they take him. And now they're publicly bitching about why we won't take him back.

Sheff Utd and Leeds are guaranteed to move.
West Brom likely.
Can't imagine anybody in their right mind wanting to watch us play Stoke.

I'm old enough to remember when they justified this horrendous new deal by saying "we'll give the fans loads more notice of moves".

Ok well it's a game of opinions and I obviously hold a different one here, but whatever your opinion it is incidents like that which get him the stick he gets rightly or wrongly. British football fans like to see you charging about, it's why Jamie Mackie was a hero.

I thought Neil was a good shout there but they're doing what they did last year. Price on Harris coming back for the last ten games? Two more bad injuries in defence tonight as well.

Ashby injured or hooked?

Ashby is five years older and has already been bought for £3m by Newcastle from West Ham, with all the salary and signing on fee that will have come with. Morgan is 18 and got released.

I actually think it's completely the opposite way around - waaaaaay too confident in his own ability, body can't cash the cheques his mind writes. Just needs to keep it simple and build from there.

Proper Premier League academy product. Paid a small fortune at a ridiculously young age and told repeatedly he was God's gift.
