Day off once a year for good behaviour. I've always used it to make an annual visit to Spotland just for old time's sake but obviously that's not possible at the mo. I'll look out for you when I get my day out next season..
So while it was all happening at Plough Lane this evening I was watching Whalley Range AFC in the Cheshire League and found myself chatting to someone who said his name was something like David Howes and that he briefly played for Dale under Eddie Gray. He came across as genuine enough and listed players he remembered playing with including Simon Holden whose own mother has probably forgotten ever played League football (I remember him being featured in a programme, giving his nickname as 'Si' and professing to drive an Austin Allegro) Thing is I can't find any reference to anyone by the name David Howes online so I'm hoping TVOS or someone might be able to confirm one way or another for me..
Just watched the Football League Show on iplayer and the only thing I registered about our former home was that fooking drum that was doubtless being tw@tted from start to finish at Stevenage. Thank fook we get avoid that sort of nonsense for at least a season.
From watching the rest of League One we're really going to have to learn to deal with some very pacy forwards if we're going to avoid it for more than one season though. Two centre backs with the Dawson money I'd say is a must.
