Hey Rob I am a huge Dale fan living in Maraetai. Read this site daily, but rarely contribute! Where are you based? |

I think Hilly has made the mistake of pinning all his preparation on the success of the 3-5-2. His vision is admirable (possession based) but we don't have the calibre of player to be effective in that system at this level. He consistently bemoans individual mistakes which show players are not comfortable with playing it. I wonder if the players believe in it? If not does the playing group have the freedom to voice there concerns to Hilly and offer alternatives? For me, the system needs two outstanding wing backs which we do not have (hence the signing of Randell...very highly thought of from a Liverpool supporter I know) and we are desperately lacking pace out wide. I think Hilly has been too ambitious with this vision of possession-based football. Back to 4-3-3 in possession and 4-5-1 without ball, bring fullbacks into play when possible to support attack. break with pace and don't play around in our last 3rd...sorted! :) |

Hey Dave and Kiwidale I was in work this morning watching bbc sport tick away to glory! I'm a teacher and shared the result with my classes.....they had no idea what I was going on about but I was buzzing ;) |

Its times like this we need to look at the big picture. Keith and the club have got it wrong this season...badly wrong! But the stability of the club is good and the identity of bringing through young players is there. I believe Keith will learn from this and be stronger for it. Sacking the manager is short-sighted and it stems from the obvious frustration of being so bad this season. The balancing act of selling our crown jewels and replacing them with rough diamonds has not worked this year (the only year under Hill it hasnt) but I believe with continued stability we will be stronger. losing Mendez Laing, Allen and Lund was, unfortunately, a step too far. One bad season should not lead to Keith Hill losing his job. |

I have been a Dale season ticket holder from 85 to 2009 (yes left December before promotion to move to NZ!). Not once in those years did I choose to miss a game because of the team sheet and could only dream of being in league 1! If you are Dale through and through you love turning up at the shrine that is Spotland to Support the club. We are one of the smallest clubs in lg 1 and should have a Dale against the world underdog attitude in which we pull together as TEAM ROCHDALE. The beauty of football is its unpredictability and you never know whats going to happen. Do you choose to miss the game when you see the team sheet because you have seen the team train all week and disagree vehemently with the managers choices? Some of the posts on here (a small minority) are quite frankly embarrassing and deserve to be ridiculed by the majority of quality Dale fan. To suggest the manager is picking the team to lose is bizarre. Although I live on the other side of the world ( coming back at xmas and my son is being mascot!!!!) Dale is still a massive part of my life and always will be regardless of the performance of the team. Come on mate....get behind the team hey....you might enjoy it?! |

goals change games. IF we had put just 1 of the chances away I think we would have been talking about a 3-0 win as they would have to come at us. We desperately need to score early then we will see a different England team |

Very refreshing to hear this! Now an armchair supporter because of being overseas....... but fans really need to be more patient and see the big picture. Its fine to question and challenge tactics and personel but the staff and directors have worked miracles to see the club progress. Keep the faith |

I purchased it in Auckland NZ. Got the Kindle app on my mac...no probs. Great read :). Also I have been impressed with daleplayer this year....at least 10 mins of highlights per game. Im looking forward to the time I can see full games. I still have Dale 2-0 Leeds on my sky planner!!!! Living away certainly doesn't decrease your interest in all things dale. I have looked at this site and the official site everyday for the last 6 years living in Auckland!!! |
