Just seen folk pointing out the near certainties that given the chance he would climb over his own mother to get to champions league football and a 60,000 crowd in one of the best and biggest stadiums housing one of the most famous clubs in the land, and that our Board would accept £10m for a 29 year old centre back that wanted to take that opportunity (if you doubt that, just consider how many centre backs have commanded a fee of £10m.....generally they just don't).

The reason 10 m is not enough is because of the disruption it will cause. It is NOT because Williams as a player is worth 15-20m. He is maybe worth 7-8m. But the disruption so close to the season will be a major pain. And therefore will require major compensation. | | | |

We would certainly be a weaker outfit without him, and from a finance, business angle, sure £10m is alright. But from a footballing perspective we'd be cutting our own throat in my opinion. Far more crucial to us than Scotty or Joe etc etc,
