Some things transcend footballing rivalries and I was sad to hear Alan's untimely death at the weekend.

I grew up watching the players of Alan Mcdonald's era but if I'm competely honest as a Chelsea fan I couldn't stand him, could never pin it down just something about him I didn't like....Now it's all a bit obvious I couldn't stand him because he was part of a solid QPR side, was a tough tackling whole hearted centre half who would always faarking play a blinder against us !! I'm sure Mr Dixon, Speedie, Durie etc would all concur....Another reason I couldn't stand him was because deep down I wished he was playing for us instead of against us.

Alan McDonald RIP

Top post, Speedie.

Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. He runs like a cheetah, his crosses couldn't be sweeter. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore.

Fair play speedie, I think someone like Macca is a massive loss to football in general, not just us Qpr supporters. Still trying to come to terms with his death having known him personally

your best post
Yes you are right death does transcend rivalries. Be interested to see if any other clubs have or will acknowledge Alan's death in any way.

I'd like to think that anyone watching Macca in his pomp would think that he'd be the sort of player you'd want in your side as you couldn't help but admire the application and attitude to the game.

good post Speedie; thanks for popping by.

we love macca for the 110% commitment, a leader and cared for the club.
i know some chelsea fans who loved john bumstead for the same...

Every Chelsea fan I know who was going in the 80's hated him, which is probably a compliment because it meant he was a difficult opponent
