Sorry if some more forward thinking chap has already done this............

A departure from my usual nonsense, but this should go to No. 1

The image of a little yellow face to tell you that I'm sad about the emptiness I face.....

Back to type lol Oh Yes please....I was told a couple of weeks ago that both of these are being re released with remixes too in Feb 2024 so count as new music. Not 100% sure of that but the person who told me is a legitimate source

I'm really looking forward to the Last Dinner Party's debut album coming out in a couple of weeks.

I'm getting a bit old for knowing hot bands coming through, but they've crossed over into the mainish stream now via BBC Sounds of, Jools Holland etc.

Some of their early singles are incredible, and there's a real bit of Freddie Mercury in the lead singer Abigail Morris.

I agree. Just caught on with these via the Spotify DJ app. Her range is quite magnificent and so is her acting ability on the videos.

Love them, there are a load of bands with women lead singers at the moment. These are other decent newish bands I like.
Lime Garden
Late Night Drive Home
Sailor Honeymoon
New Dad
Bandit

Some sound very 90s, which I like, being of a certain age.

Just bought two tickets for their show in Hammersmith for October. Their album which dropped on Friday is F8cking amazing, so much so I ordered a real copy and got priority on tickets which were available this morning.

Sadly the album is just a load of bang average mid indie. Gutting

I’ve not been blown away by any of their songs so far but this band seem to have something about them. One to watch maybe. Latest offering from English Teacher.

I don't know about that, but all a matter of personal taste as ever.

I really like the record, solid 8/10 from my perspective - hope they go on to even better things.

I totally disagree as well and think the album is an absolute banger. High production value for sure. A large record company has certainly backed them to the hilt to produce that record which makes me wonder if their has been some inside help along the way or just maybe, they’ve spotted the talent and willing to roll a hard six on them.

All about opinions at the end of the day isn’t it?  Some see The Clash as an oracle on music, to me they were mostly average with a terrible singer but just around at the right time.

Gotta say I kind of struggle to get into new music these days when there's so much old music still to explore!

Poll: How old is everyone on here?

All opinions but the singles promised so much and the album is just mid tempo indie, sounds like Wet Leg with strings on, really really bland. Very disappointing given the promise of those big tracks

I too am a guy who prefers finding the wealth of great music from the past and not really into a lot of modern music. But there are absolute gems out there. Although this is from a few years ago, this band have a new LP out soon which I am excited to purchase.

Another oldie but goodie with a new release next month are these, which I am also looking forward too.

agree The Clash are the most overrated band ever. So many better bands at that time such as The Subway Sect.

New music? This tune is 45 years old. Can't say the cover version does anything for me but nice if the song gets a new audience.

Title track from Kacey Musgraves’ forthcoming LP. Feels a lot more like the majority of her catalog than what we got on “star-crossed”

Here’s the first track from the new album byTopographies, which features Lol Tolhurst’s son Grey.

And how about a tune from NewDad’s new album?

got her debut LP when it was released, but never bothered after that. Always felt she was trying to hard to be Karen Dalton.
