That was the home attendance. About 4700 in total

The attendance was posted on the scoreboard at about 85 minutes

Unless my eyes deceived me, it was given as 4325, with 210 of that total from Fylde

Given the pre-match announcements on tickets sold, i'm guessing plenty bought the £1 tickets but found something else to do

Great initiative by the club, which numerically didn't work as well as expected. Worth trying again though. Seemingly, 2,000 people had better things to do.
Happy with the win and two opportunistic goals. Whatever our limitations squad wise, has to be said, that second half was a dire watch from a Dale fans point of view. Under the cosh for most of it from a bottom of the league team. We defended stealthily, but AFCF didn't get the goals their endeavour deserved.
Strange the "time added on" board wasn't shown, or announced over the Tannoy after 90 minutes.
Compliments of the season to one and all.

4539, including 214 from Fylde.

Is that a revised total, with the figures put up on the scoreboard premature?

And if so, does that mean that we should ignore attendance figures put up on the scoreboard in future?

No, that’s the correct attendance which was announced over the tannoy.

For some reason, though, on the scoreboard, they break it down into ‘Home’ and ‘Away’, which is why there’s sometimes some confusion.

So the two figures projected on the scoreboard should be totalled...

But the maths were still slightly out if i saw the home/away figures correctly

It's still odd, because i'm pretty sure there've been plenty of occasions in the past where the "total" given on the scoreboard ended up being the overall attendance figure published, including on here

So basically the bottom line is that around 2000 extra spectators were attracted by the £1 ticket price and actually rolled up on the day?
I wonder how many tickets were sold but unused?

It said Home 4325, Away 214 and the tannoyman gave 4539.

I’ve left my calculator in my desk, though…. 🤣

Not to go off at a tangent but i was at an oblique angle on the far side of the Pearl St when reading the Fylde figure

They always show on the scoreboard the home number and away number, but not the total. I’m not sure why as it does lead to confusion if you’re just having a quick glance.

Or how many of the 2000 were people that paid a pound or how many wree from the 2000+ given away. I am sure they will work that out - if a few hundred caught the bug it was worth it.

A bit disappointed in that figure but I suppose for a couple of quid it would be worth buying tickets on the off chance that visitors / friends / neighbours might have fancied a trip.

Hopefully a few newbies return for another visit

There was a lot of school kids and mums near me that said that they got tickets from the community initiative. They said that many of their friends had tickets but weren't there. I think this must have been the story throughout the ground. The ones that attended seemed to enjoy it though which is a positive.

Despite the online ticket maps saying that most seats in my area were sold out, every other row was completely empty. Maybe blocked out for safety or community initiative tickets with non attenders

Who... AFC bury you mean?

Thought the "mighty" shakers went bust owing plenty of local business tens/hundreds of thousands of pounds, whilst enjoying the ride?

I wouldn't laugh to loud if £1 can't get them in above a team in tier 9 at full price then every chance you could possibly go the same way.

Personally i quite like Dale, now Bolton thats on another level of rivalry.

The analysis of the £1 ticket sales will be an important part of the promotion..
How many Adults and how many kids... oh they wont know will they?
Whereabouts did people come from ... errr.
Did they collect email addys?
Did any particular schools turn up in significant numbers?
Will there be a follow-up offer for the next home game?
Did they hand out flyers at the turnstiles with an offer?
If they did collect emails, will they compare them against the emails from the next game?
At least the company running the food franchise will be pleased..
Whilst it was good to sèe the ground fuller than usual, my bet is that we may have lost money overall. Extra security on boxing Day will not have been cheap. Maybe the bars will offset the extra stewarding costs...?
