The tactical use of time in the 4th quarter makes it a great spectacle for me. A game can literally turn in the last minute of allotted time.
I do however root for the Jets and perennially ask myself which of my two teams (Rs and Jets) are letting me down more and what did I do in a past life to deserve such luck.
It was invented by marketing companies. Very clever. Make people think they are watching something interesting and have them spend even more time digesting $hit.

Started following the Colts in the late 80’s because from What I could see , they played in blue and white and were consistently inconsistent. I knew they were the team for me
I started watching in the early 90's when my job was literally to watch telly. It can be a brilliant tactical game but, much like other sports, not every game is exciting. I love it personally but not everyone can put up with the stop/start nature of it and the rules can be difficult to get into.
I love watching highlights have been to a couple of live games, first was Minnesota Vikings V St Louis Cardinals at Wembley real easy to get a ticket game was pretty boring
Watching live games is not for me no flow, little action loads of whistles, Keith Stroud would love it.
I love the uniforms, the players names, action when it happens is excellent so NFL channel/APP highlights are great.
Red Zone Sunday at 6pm is a must for me especially the early games.
Enjoy Chris Collingsworth's punditry as well as NFL show on BBC like Bell & Osy and prefered Mark Chapmans time hosting
My current team are The Bills, I bought their hat. It used to be the Browns but they started winning. I cant support teams for principly wear Red .
Prefer Jets to Giants mainly because a fella I worked with was a Giants fan when they won the SB worse still he supported Chels.
When I was very young a relative from the states came over and gave me a swetshirt with a tiger on it. No idea at the time it was a Bengals shirt.
I probably wont watch the SB tonight and try not to listen/watch media until the highlights show comes on.
I have never understood why British News needs to announce the SB result
I used to like NFL when Channel 4 first started showing it but the interest has diminished mainly because of the lack of British players being involved - nothing to empathise with really. It's a novelty event ,rather like having the circus rolling into town.I'll watch it with the usual Yank paraphernalia - popcorn, beer etc. hoping I can stay awake and interested beyond half time.Rihanna this year,I wonder if she'll be lip syncing?
American ideology, American news, American sport, we have an atlantic cultural tunnel yet I have to get the ferry from the IOM! Look, we sent those people there because we'd had enough of them, should have fixed a non-return valve on*
*Except for Bad Brains, Black Flag etc. And Gladiator (Film). And Mark Twain. And.........and.............and...................
i was thinking if it is the big game for them, their final, why do they need all the half time celebs and special ads to make more watch it? you either like gridiron or you don't. i won't watch. never do. very hyped. if you enjoy it, good on you.

4 Hour game - with 4 minutes of action! - Need I say more!
I’m a big Eagles fan and have been to a number of games over the years. They are truly mental fans and will pack out Arizona tomorrow night. It’s a close game which I think they will just edge. It’s an amazing spectacle. I went to the 1994 Super Bowl in Atlanta between Dallas vs Buffalo. A brilliant experience. Fly Eagles Fly!
I don't understand why it requires a complete change of personnel for attack and defence though. Surely if the players could do both it would speed things up a bit and make it more interesting?

American Football is a great sport in my opinion. I admire the athletism as well as the tactical elements, eagerly awaiting tomorrows game. Nothing tops footie but then im a Rangers fan so gotta have something to look forward to.
I'm American, so naturally, I'm keen on American Football, but it comes third for me behind football and basketball. Just way too slow and very violent. There was an Eriksen-esque incident on the field this season that had me wondering why I even bother.
Super Bowl week is the most tedious, over-commercialized week here in the States. Just so completely money and product driven. It's dreadful and actually has me counting down the days for NFL season to end.
Think yourself lucky that we are not still in the era of timeless tests.
Back then, the only limit on the duration of the match was when the ship left for home.
"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."
The players are some of the finest athlethes in the world .The QB can unload a pass that could travel 50 yards easily yet drop into a recievers hands like magic. He also has to avoid being crushed to death by giant 350lbs line men who can run 40 yards in 5 seconds which defises logic. Some recievers have Olympic speed and once they are clear its a touchdown. The 2 massive issues are brain injuries which effect 90% of players in later years and its common knowledge but they take the huge contract to set up their families . The second one is commercials (fine for SB) but miserable during every other game . Kansas City will battle hard but I think Philly lift the trophy

QBs can't hold a candle to Don Masson for accuracy - and he did it with his feet.

The answer of course, is money. But you have it flipped. BECAUSE it's a big game, with a massive captive audience, everyone wants to advertise, there's no other time in the year where 100M + Americans are watching at the same time, especially these days when sports is one of the only shows where people watch live rather than streaming on demand and skipping the adverts. It costs a fortune (for prime spots, I believe it can be $10m plus) to advertise. As a result, companies spent tons on making the adverts and this is the first time they get seen by anyone, which in turn makes that part of it a "must see experience" in itself.
The wife decided to invite some neighbors over for the game? It will be the first game she would have watched simply because of the half time show.
I resided in KC around 1996 for about 5 years and they were pretty shite. I went to one Chiefs game and it lasted 5 hours, storm came in and went, game stopped and restarted in a now newly created quagmire of a field. Good to see them doing well for all my US chief mates.
Live NFL games are just one big marketing exercise for the industrial military complex of late. Thanks but no thanks.
Boddingtons, Dales pale ale and doctored up store pizzas, followed by acid reflux for desert.
