Humpty, last time you sheepishly refused to have a civil political debate and disappeared for a while. Now it seems you have got a little braver and fallen back into the old swing of things of sniping from the sidelines, abusing people and generally trolling sensible threads.

I’m not asking you to provide all the answers. I am asking you where you think oppression is in America in 2020 and what is the direct cause.
It really isn’t a difficult question and would be one of the easiest answers to give in the world should it of course exist. For example, I believe there is oppression in Iran and in Saudi Arabia, if you ask me where it exists and in what form it would be an easy answer. Try me.
As a result of that knowledge, I would feel comfortable lending my support to any movement designed with correcting the oppression of the Iranian and Saudi people, especially the women and also be comfortable in opposing those that supported the oppression.
If you don’t know the answer to my question regarding the USA just say, no need to continually wriggle out of it or avoid it. People are currently supporting a very damaging movement based entirely on this premise, and attacking those that don’t - so I would have thought a few people would have at least read the manual first.
None of the things you have listed there show oppression of black people in 2020. People need to understand what oppression means. Nobody is arguing that some black people don't face challenges today, but facing challenges and facing oppression isn’t the same thing. Lots of people face challenges, largely socio-economic, but that doesn’t mean it’s anybodies fault, the result of active racism/discrimination or something you cannot change yourself.
A race based issue doesn't mean a racism based issue, very important to note that.
To give you a clue, the main thing behind the movement in the States is due to police brutality, specifically lethal force, targeting the black community disproportionately due to racism. Do you agree with that? If so... can you show me how you formed that opinion. (It's an open question, anyone can answer, preferably in their own words and not in the form of a link to somebody else's). [Post edited 21 Sep 2020 5:59]
