Lee Hoos on Clive's Norwich report (via yours truly) 12:35 - Apr 10 with 12033 viewsstainrods_elbow

It appears to have been written by a robot! Is Lee Hoos perhaps a robot?

If Clive hasn't torn all of his hair out by now, I'm sure the last tufts will be on the floor after seeing this! It was a 'disappointing' result, wans't it? And I'm quite sure the players 'will be doing all they can' to put it right tonight. (LIke they did against Rotherham. And Bolton. And Stoke. And . . .)

I'd say Hoos' reply itself tells you something crucial about the current culture at our club - a pile of corporate speaking, 'listening' while not listening, bland, passive-aggressive bullshit! Is it just me or does it read as another nail in our coffin?

*************************************************************************

Dear Mr Thomas,

Thank you for your email.

I welcome feedback from supporters as it provides me with a valuable insight which I use so that we can work together to move forward.

I have taken the time to read Clive’s match report and share his views that the result against Norwich was disappointing, I know the players will be doing all they can to make sure they put it right on Wednesday.

We are currently assessing all options available for the managerial position and we will make a decision based on the best interests for the long-term future and stability of the club and for our loyal supporters.

Kind regards,

Lee Hoos

That can't possibly be the full story.

As far as I know there is an OAP discount already? Surely after a further discount for loyalty maybe?

This is odd. My dad is younger than you, and gets the discount. And has done for years. Why don't you? And why would the CEO need to intercede? Senior Citizen discounts are for over 60s - i can see it on the website. Why are you being singled out?

Anti, I think you may have missed my subtle bit---
" After more than 60 years supporting QPR (some eye watering wonderful times I'd readily admit). Over thirty five of those years, at the top end of supporting, with serious financial commitment - I had the temerity to seek his intercession in getting me a OAP discount at 73."

Over 60's get a big discount, my Dad pays about half what I do for his season ticket

On the contrary, I greatly enjoy puerile humour, petty name punning, finger pointing and provocative opinionatedness as part of the life of a football fan on a board of opinions. If that makes me a five year old, that's fine by me!

Whatever anyone says, if Hoos is going to make statement after statement welcoming new managers and thanking them when they're sacked without a murmur of protest from the fanbase, I'll sing from my own songsheet. And if it's true Andy Sinton can't tell it as it is either, we're already running out of names at the club who are willing to do so. If there were one or two more who were, I also suspect Clive's bile might be a little diluted, and perhaps so-called fans wouldn't be taking to a message board ahead of a vital game to talk about going home early, betting on our relegation, and watching Manure. (Which is really sad, pitiful and childish, I'd say, but obviously I'm more the child for holding 'professional' members of the club accountable for their bullshit. Go figure!)

In sum, we need less professionalism and more passion, less diplomacy and more desire, less politics and more authenticity. From the lot of them. And if I'm the only one saying it, so be it! But I'm not holding my breath!

Dave, obviously he is not subject to the obscure rules of the commercial department !

I was obviously paying too much and important to their financial survival and partly responsible for supporting Lee Hoos'[s supportl plan.

I get it. He only supports the top end of the team but pays extra not to have to watch the lower end. He wanted a discount for watching the top end now that he is 104 years old but they told him he would have to watch the team's lower half like the rest of us.

Either that or it's a load of bllocks.

Mark you are being obscure

I pressume you are talking about something other than a standard season tick, something like C club? perhaps there are no standard concessions on those or sponsored boxes but you probably need to be a bit more explicit if you want people to understand your predicament.

With all due respect (and I genuinely hate saying that) I still don't understand.

Had you not been discounted in error and were trying to get the extra over that you had paid back?

First time I've ever seen a 73 year old use the phrase "FFS"
Impressive grasp of the modern world.

My only guess is that over the years Mark (alongside Chris Wright?) has put in so much money that he thought, arguably rightly, that in his dotage a free seat might be a nice gesture from the club. But Mark would rather not say that because it feels a bit... off. And I can see his point there, but without explicit details I don't know what to think except perhaps Mr Hoos could've been less curt, maybe.

My 60th birthday was on 30th July, when I renewed my ST before the 30th July (early bird) it was reduced to 'senior citizen' automatically which was handy, unfortunately the football carried on being shit but by that time I was used to it

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

This thread is pure QPR, looking for an argument at all costs. Started by some bloke moaning about Lee Hoos not replying to his letter in the manner he thinks he should, then some bloke thinks he deserves a discount due to spending more money than the rest of us and both getting uptight/angry because they’re not backed up or understood..

I see even Timcockring has even chimed in suggesting the reply could have been reworded to say the same thing in a different way...

Some of our fans could start a fight with themselves in a toilet cubicle....

Over 60s get an OAP discount on season tickets don't they?
I'm missing the point here as well clearly.

Over 60s DON'T get a discount in ALL parts of the ground. Them are the rules according to fan friendly (not) Lee Hoos.
LythamR was close but no cigar for him this time.
Seeing as you were on such a friendly footing with Lee, Northernr. I did in a earlier post invite you to review the Exchange correspondence next time you have cosy tea together. Which was only intended to support Stainrod's posting

Why don't you just tell us what part of the ground doesn't qualify for discount for over 60's, instead of all the cryptic stuff?

We are one of the few clubs that give discount at the age of 60, for which I'm thankful!

Well, according to this: https://www.qpr.co.uk/tickets/season-tickets/
Blue, bronze, silver, gold and platinum all have OAP discounts. What's left? Does C Club or W12 or whatever still exist? If you want something cheaper there seem to be loads of options.
Still don't get why you can't just be explicit and tell us exactly the beef, because no one can quite understand it, other than Hoos may have been rude in some correspondence once, for which we have zero context. I like Hoos - he's done a good job helping us to keep out of administration - bet he could also appoint better managers than Stewie Houston too.

Bare bones.

Yeah but as an OAP he should still qualify for a discount. Does he want more than all the other OAPs because he's invested more and that's his beef?
