It seems that Boltons woes far out reach Dales at present.
At least Dale can look forward to saturdays unlike bolton..

Isn't this a prime example of be careful what you wish for. When they were in the Premier League they complained about mid table mediocrity boring football.

Seems amazing now that they were such collective pricks to Gary Megson from the second he arrived at the place, for delivering hard to beat, Premiership football.

As a Bury fan I don't want them to go bust, weirdly I need them around to hate. Has been that way for 30 years now.

Even if they survive tomorrow how do they get out of admin once they're in it? Feel for the fans who are still there- although even now there's some of them going on they should get rid of Parkinson. How easy a manage do they think mediocre players who aren't getting paid are?

Not getting paid would affect my motivation to be honest.

I was referring to the Allardyce era a bit like Charlton fans when Curbishsley was their manager. I recall fans from one of those clubs calling TalkSport saying they wished they were still in the top flight having the opportunity to play Man U, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea etc each season.
I concur it is better rivals don't go bust

Think you are a bit mixed up there about Megson. The hard to beat premiership football was under fat Sam, who also sprinkled it with stardust from Djorkaeff, Okocha, Campo, Hierro, Anelka etc. Sam got them into europe for the first time in their history then jumped ship, with Megson coming in as 4th choice after Bruce, Coleman and Souness had all turned it down. The Bolton fans turned on Megson because after a 1-1 home draw against Sporting Lisbon in the last 16 of the EUFA cup, Megson upset the fans by putting out a reserve side in Lisbon for the return leg and lost 1-0. Megson picked a reserve side so that the first team were rested for Sunday's relegation battle against Wigan Athletic. They then proceeded to lose 0—1 to a ten-man Wigan side. That was when he lost the fans.

You may be right about when it properly turned, and of course the Allardyce era is the time Bolton fans remember fondly. And why wouldn't they - I make no apology for being immensely jealous of how good that Bolton team was, and Jaaskelainen must be one of the most brilliant, underrated signings in history.

But Bolton fans never gave Megson a chance. They were complaining about him from the second he arrived at the club because he "wasn't a big enough name". Big names being historically desperate to manage Bolton of course. Now he doesn't peddle attractive football anywhere but they were hard to beat and stayed in the PL. Which of course they haven't exactly been doing since.

Anyway, looking at today and they wouldn't have that two-week extension if there weren't a bona fide buyer who will honour at least the tax liabilities in full. So you have to assume that they aren't going under just yet - which is good news. Fingers crossed the FPP test actually does its homework so their fans don't have to go through this again.

Like chalk and cheese I suspect. Ashley's crime is not being prepared to spend money they haven't got on players - he could of course choose to lose his own cash just to keep the fans happy but he hasn't. Geordies need to remember that he had to spend a lot of cash to get them out of the mess they were in when he took them on. They can hate him all they want but they need to be careful on what they wish for.

As for Bolton - despite the death of their owner who bank rolled them for years, they have continues to spend way above their means. Just the same as Blackburn and Birmingham. That is cheating in my mind.

Things look to be getting worse for Bolton.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47787062

A part of me wants them to be wound up if only to serve as a lesson to other clubs who continually overspend which is basically cheating.
