Wales ‘Champing at the bit’ and Joe ready to do some ‘Chomping’ too
Thursday, 24th Nov 2022 17:00 by @Cornish67David

Joe Allen has completed thirty six hours of intense rehabilitation and is now training fully with the national squad of Wales. To that end he is expected to feature tomorrow in the crucial Group B World Cup clash with Iran. Talking to a friendly journalist with close ties to the Welsh camp we anticipate him starting on the bench and if the tie goes Wales way an appearance in the second half.

This news will please followers of Cymru and Swansea City after a misdiagnosis of the type of hamstring injury he sustained in September. Today we saw him out on the training pitch running with little interruption and looking fit and ready. As Wales coach Rob Page has intimidated Joe is crucial to this World Cup campaign which is why we think he may feature far more in next weeks game against England.

Iranian keeper Alireza Beiranvand is still apparently not one hundred percent fit after a shocking blow to his head in Irans first game against England. FIFA have told the Iran camp that if there is any doubt then he is not to play and protocols must be followed. However, Iran have stated any decision will be down to the team doctor. Brain injury charity Headway said it was “an utter disgrace” that Beiranvand had been allowed to play on against England.

FIFA have confirmed that Qatar authorities have agreed to allow football fans in to the ground with rainbow motifs. The FAW ( Football Association Of Wales ) stated just a few hours ago. "In response to the FAW, FIFA has confirmed that fans with Rainbow Wall bucket hats and rainbow flags will be allowed entry to the stadium for Cymru's match against Iran on Friday. All World Cup venues have been contacted and instructed to follow the agreed rules & regulations."

It’s a shame that such lengths have had to be reached to get a simple matter resolved.
