Three missing - but Pompey find 22 men to take on Norwich and beat them
Saturday, 15th Aug 2020 22:07 by pompey-fans.com staff

Pompey's first game of pre-season brought a 2-0 victory Norwich under-23s - and gave Kenny Jackett the chance to run the rule over 22 players.

Lee Brown and Ronan Curtis scored set-piece goals as the Blues used a different side in each half in the behind-closed-doors game at their training camp in Essex.

Pompey were without Ben Close (groin), Reeco Hackett-Fairchild (knee) and Ellis Harrison (calf)with minor injuries.

Brown opened Pompey's account for pre-season on the half hour by curling a free-kick around the wall and into the bottom corner. A couple of minutes later Curtis, who had won the free kick for the first goal, made it 2-0 from another after John Marquis had been upended.

Jack Whatmough was among a new team who came on at the start of the second half, which passed off with little incident.

Pompey (1st Half): Bass; Bolton, Downing, Raggett, Brown; Naylor (c), Morris; Harness, Williams, Curtis; Marquis. 2nd half: MacGillivray; Kavanagh, Mnoga, Whatmough, Rew; Storey, Cannon; Brook, Evans, Teggart; Stanley.
