We want to win - but we want to give plenty a chance Monday, 12th Nov 2018 21:02 by pompey-fans.com staff Kenny Jackett aims the balance a chance to give fringe and young players a run-out with a desire to win when Spurs under-21s visit Fratton Park in the Checkatrade Trophy on Tuesday evening. The manager revealed that Andre Green would start - and he may not be the only unfamiliar face in the starting XI. Jackett told www.portsmouthfc.co.uk: 'We’ve already qualified, but a win or a draw means we’ll finish top and get a home draw in the next round, which is what we want. 'It’s a good opportunity for some of the more prominent young players to play in a first team environment with senior professionals. We want to win, although giving people the right chance against category one academy players will be very interesting. 'Some of the lads who have been substitutes or just on the fringes of things will also be able to get a game. We’ve then got a weekend without a match before what is quite an intense period from the Scunthorpe fixture onwards.' Brett Pitman will miss the tussle with Spurs' youngsters because he has a minor knee injury.
