VesterGaard Transfer Delay Thursday, 12th Jul 2018 15:52 Saints supporters are wondering why Jannik Vestergaard has still not been announced as a Southampton player, her sis the reason why.
Saints had planned to announce Jannik Vestergaard on Wednesday as the latest signing, the player had completed his medical successfully and had agreed terms, but the issues are with Borussia Monchengladbach who are yet to give the final approval although they have agreed a fee with Saints.
Sources in Germany say the issue is solely with the Bundesliga club sorting out the final paperwork and that Saints and the player himself are all happy with the deal.
The transfer is expected to go through imminently and knowing Saints that means about 11pm this evening, so watch this space.

Always a worry when there's a delay like this...(Levy and Alderweireld ?)

So assuming this happens, we still seem to be strongly linked with Marlon Santos. Santos would make it 6 CB's, surely one too many and someone would have to go.

For those who think signing a new player is just to agree a fee with the club, a salary with the player and then sign on the dotted line (all three copies) ...this is another illustration of all the bureaucracy involved with international clearances. Fortunately, all the countries involved are EU members (prior to Brexit, that is )...so there won't be delays over work permits , etc. and it's just a matter of time before the paperwork ends up on someone's desk..or until he returns from holiday. So let's be patient ....a little longer .

Like IWOZTHERE I have concerns that all seems not to be going to plan with the signing announcement. Media reports saying that Spurs are open to Alderweireld leaving the club might indicate that they have a signing in the pipeline. Let's hope our concerns are unfounded.

Blogs 31 bloggersKnees-up Mother Brown #19 by wessex_exile February, and the U’s enter the most pivotal month of the season. Six games in just four weeks, with four of them against sides also in the bottom six. By March we should be either well clear of danger, or even deeper in the sh*t. With Danny Cowley’s U’s still unbeaten, and looking stronger game on game, I’m sure it’ll be the former, but first we have to do our bit to consign Steve ‘Sour Grapes’ Cotterill’s FGR back to non-league. After our shambolic 5-0 defeat at New Lawn, nothing would give me greater pleasure, even if it meant losing one of my closest awaydays in the process. What’s the excuse going to be today Steve – shocking pitch, faking head injuries, Mexican banditry or some other bit of sour-grapery bullsh*t? Portsmouth Polls |
