Anyone expecting Pompey's squad numbers to reveal without any doubt who'd be in Kenny Jackett's team - and who probably wouldn't be - will have been disappointed at their unveiling.

They give few if any clues to whether he favours one player over another, with a number of likely first-team starters having numbers well below 11.

And two of those with numbers within the first 11 are Michael Smith and Gary Roberts, thought by most observers unlikely to be central to Jackett's thoughts.
