![]() Tuesday, 23rd Sep 2014 23:37 by pompey-fans.com staff Nigel Atangana staked a strong claim for a first-team return with a good display capped by a goal as Pompey Reserves drew 2-2 with Luton. The midfielder has missed the last few games through injury and general opinion is that the Pompey engine room has been poorer without him. Andy Awford will now weigh up whether to restore him to the side at Hartlepool on Saturday. Also on the scoresheet and pressing his case for a first-team start was Andy Barcham, who has come off the bench late in the past couple of games. Barcham put Pompey into the lead against the Hatters in the Furze Lane clash before the Blues conceded. Atangana restored the lead but Luton levelled again in the second half. Adam Webster, Nicky Shorey, Nick Awford, Jack Maloney, Ben Close, Ricky Holmes and Miles Storey were other first-team contenders to feature.
