…and I’ve just learned they were B52s. If I’d know that at the time I think I’d have been even more worried. Out of Fairford apparently, god knows where they were going though? |

Btw - there are probably many who'd pay double that for an explosion on take off |

I didn't see them, but Alfie's mum and her friends did on an Isle of Wight jolly, and sent me photos to find out what they were. They thought they were witnessing the start of Armageddon and didn't want to die on the Isle of Wight I did see something troubling this afternoon though, two very large grey 4-engined passenger jet-sized planes flying in formation far lower than commercial flights should fly over my house, heading west(ish) towards Bath/ Bristol. No obvious livery, so they must have been military? In the absence of any far distance I figured all was cool and went back to work... |

With apologies to the mental health of Durham, Joe Taylor is a pipe dream I'm afraid. According to various Terrier forum speculation, the only way they'll get the much-underused naturally gifted striker in January is if Luton Town will part with him for somewhere north of £2m, but the Huddersfield fanbase definitely want him. Luton are 3pts outside the relegation zone, and averaging barely just over a goal a game, so quite why they aren't using him other than cameo appearances off the bench is frankly baffling. He'll go in January somewhere, but it won't be here I'm afraid. |

A couple more to add to the list - Lindisfarne and Stiff Little Fingers both did Essex Uni, and I’m pretty sure Renaissance played at both the Tech and Uni. Edit: and not forgetting Spirit supported by The Police at Essex Uni. [Post edited 24 Nov 11:14]

Morecambe beat basket-case Swindon 3-2 at the County Ground. Although on face value we might have preferred a draw, I'm actually okay with that result, keeps them both at least 2 games below us. We'd have been in the S H 1 T if we'd lost though. |

So much better, gives a fantastic lift to the rest of a grey wet windy weekend. Well done the travelling support, you all deserved that! Tbh, after a difficult first half against the wind, I thought we were good value for the win based on our second half performance. Considering Grimsby are in the play-offs, they were poor. Shows how even much of this division is. Got to do it all again with another early start and long trip to Fleetwood next Saturday, but this will give the squad a tremendous confidence boost. Up the U's! |

Grimsby FC tweeted about 20 minutes ago that despite the rain the game was still looking like it would be on. Fingers crossed for the travelling faithful, most of whom will be virtually there by now. |

One of the things I particularly love about this video is that in the dying seconds he’d turned his camera to the South Stand (including our Noah) no doubt to capture despair, and instead caught the ecstasy perfectly. His epilogue was class. |

Definitely worth a watch, but yes his factual errors at times were grating to begin with, but he definitely got it by the end. Including one from a Bradford City supporter, that's now the 4th non-U's vlog I've seen from the match - think I can see why our attendances are getting better. |

Indeed, we'd probably still be playing now. I haven't seen it back post-match but I'll be honest, even in avoiding the lunge I thought Taylor was caught. Immaterial now, but in a way I'm more annoyed about the blatant pull back of Taylor first half, right in front of the linesman, which didn't even get a yellow card. Yellow cards don't win games, but an early one does change the mindset of a defence. |

2+ years at Colchester BHS back in the day (the big store near Cheap Jacks). I'm not 100% certain on the years, but broadly about '77 to '80 I reckon. Mostly Saturday work, but full time during the summer holidays. I really enjoyed it too, and like to think I was pretty good at it (at least no one died that I'm aware of ) |

Why, because supporters (I'm a supporter btw, not a fan) disagree with you? Sorry you feel that way - I've offered arguments to debate, you've chosen not to. The U'sual has always been a broad church and I hope it remains so, but we don't really take well to personal insults, we've had our fair share of those in the past. I don't claim any specific knowledge of the game other than 50+ years of following the U's. |
