RFA, mate, on behalf of my dad, Hillsy and myself, I can’t apologise enough. |
 | Forum Reply | Sky Sports Breaking News at 08:54 29 Apr 2025
No need to apologise. You challenged NorrisGreen about their post and I questioned something in yours. I think it was then assumed that I shared NorrisGreen’s views. I don’t. I just wanted to make the point that people may be in the know to an extent but then add on their interpretation of events from that viewpoint. Nourry is unpopular, is said to be unpleasant, has made mistakes…therefore Marti always tells the truth and is being hounded out of the club and forced into the arms of a club that might offer a realistic chance of promotion and double his salary. |

What’s he supposed to say to fans who want him to stay? ‘I’d like to move to a club with a larger budget, but if nothing works out, I’ll see you next season’? I’d like marti to stay but if he leaves it may not be that he was forced out by Nourry. But you are right, I have never met either of them. |

Well, I’m going to take my ounce of intelligence and consider who might gain from the talks being announced. Could be Nourry, if he wants an excuse to sack marti. Could be marti if he wants to announce his availability. Could be either/both of them if he/they want to make the current position untenable. I’m not defending Nourry. It may be that marti is being pushed out against his will. It may be that marti sees he can’t make progress here and he’s looking to move on before his value is diminished. Maybe it’s a bit of both. |

‘Might.’ Did we speak to hammerby to get permission to speak to marti or because we’d agreed terms with marti, or just for a chat? ‘Heard from those that likely would know’ ‘It might not be true.’ We just have no idea, do we? |

How would Nourry know that marti’s agent has spoken to wba? They don’t get on. Marti will leave if he gets a decent offer. Nourry might be happy. I can’t believe he’d pay up marti’s contract. He might negotiate on the compensation. Even if he liked Nourry, marti’d leave if he had a decent offer. |

And now his agent leaks that he’s had an interview, to alert other clubs he’s looking for options |

Interesting that reading social media/message boards is said to have put him off signing permanently for them. |

That’s not great. I imagine that in the summer someone will make an approach and we’ll end up having to sell for a minimal fee (if we don’t have the option to extend) [Post edited 8 Apr 22:42]

This may have been covered (sorry) but do we have to sell kelman in January if he doesn’t sign a new contract? [Post edited 8 Apr 22:23]

Onloaded, surely. As opposed to Offloaded, or just Loaded, which is what I’ll have to be to watch the match. [Post edited 8 Apr 17:43]

I’m hoping for three points against Swansea, who aren’t great and will probably have nothing to play for |

Not a great game of football but…a sensible line up, starting Lloyd and Field and, presumably, taking them off when sports science said they were about to damage themselves. Anderson playing where his weaknesses wouldn’t immediately result in chances for the opposition. And the substitutions made sense to me, assuming injuries and recovery based lack of resilience. Some thought had been given to how we approached the game - no playing it out from the back. I think the team, yesterday and at Stoke, is definitely amongst the three worst in the league. There is nobody in it who is going to create something with skill. And, the manager and the players understood that, prepared properly, played with heart and met the main objective of not losing to a team deeper in trouble than us. On a macro scale, things are far below the standards we should be setting, but for that match, with the players available, I was ok with it. I clapped the team off. I was recognising the effort, and clapping the players, not the club. And I was relieved to get a point and that the manager and what players we have left might, in contrast to what we saw at Stoke, have the attitude and pride required to keep us up. |

I’m pretty sure madsen played…no…I’m pretty sure madsen was on the pitch on Saturday. I think the question of why is a fair one. Is it because marti thought madsen would improve the team? Surely not. Is it because the game was gone? Hopefully not, we were playing Stoke. |

Well, Lloyd looked pretty fit when he came on, for half the game. Couldn’t we have played him in the first half and seen how he was at half-time? Or is it Sports EXACT Science, enabling them to know that he will only manage exactly 45 minutes and won’t be fit until 4pm? [Post edited 29 Mar 19:59]

I agree. Lloyd isn’t perfect but he’s better than nothing. You can’t start Anderson ahead of paal, and why wouldn’t you play Morrison and push Edwards into midfield where he was good last time. |
