Derek Milton
at 10:34 29 Jun 2021

There is a thread on this great R, however there is an obituary of him in today's Guardian, from which I learned that Derek was a friend of Norman Manley. former Prime Minister of Jamaica, they both loved cricket and went to Lords together, but much more importantly they were both supporters of Queen's Park Rangers.

Prediction v Pompey
at 10:37 27 Aug 2019

Way back in the dim and distant past, before history was invented
I went away on holiday on the same day that we played our second League cup match. We won 5-1 Wilkes got all 5

Some years later we played Portsmouth in the 2nd Round of the League Cup
I went to Paris. We won 5-0 O.G. Gregory 2, Micklewhite 2

Tomorrow I go to Paris again.

The signs seem to say that we should get 5

QPR Women
at 11:06 26 Aug 2019

On a very hot day my wife and I went to the other side of Brighton to watch QPR Women play Saltdean Women, in the Women's football equivalent of The Conference.

Very entertaining, but very much a work in progress.
Rangers took the lead with a pen. The scoring went...
0-1, 1-1,2-1, 2-2, 3-2, 3-3, 4-3, 4-4, 4-5 it was bloody hot ,did not envy the players

Typical Rangers though. We kicked off for the 2nd half at 2-2. We played it backwards, one missed pass, one shot and we are 3-2 down.

However our comebacks were good. Steve Q. and the staff worked well with the players.

Well worth watching and encouraging.
Give it a try if you have time.

We were well looked after by the players and staff.

Mexico Earthquake. Rangers connection

Rangers fan and well known composer
Michael Nyman lives in Mexico City
Has not been heard from since the quake
There is a 40% plus loss of power etc. which may account for it.
Several friends are holding their breath and hoping all is well.

Today is the 70th anniversary of my first visit to Loftus Road
We beat Northampton 2-0
Top of Div 3 south, unbeaten.
Our first ever promotion season.
Had a lot of joy, heartache and wonderful memories
Long may they continue.

I was in Dieppe last week. Walking le Grande Rue,when a young Frenchman turned to me. Gave me a thumbs up and said "Kway,Pay,Air"
Took me a few seconds to work out what he said. By that time he was out of sight.
Made me feel good,though.

If any other faces are around I would be pleased to meet you.

March 2nd
at 13:21 2 Mar 2016

March 2nd is my birthday and is a pretty good day for the R's

Even before I was born.

QPR have never lost a game on March 2nd
Until 2013 all of the games played on my birthday have been at home, which seems quite odd. I have seen most of them.
2013 I was worried because we were doing badly in the league and we were away to Southampton
I was a bit worried that the magic run would end, then this happened...

I love my birthday

WTF on the news this morning, It shocked me into wakefulness

"The British mosque "where 'Beatles' met"

"When the Prince of Wales opened Al Manaar mosque more than a decade ago it promised to be a religious hub open to the entire community.

But on Sunday the centre was identified as the likely meeting point for at least two young extremists who would go on to become part of the brutal Isil terror cell known as the "Beatles".

The mosque and surrounding area were reported meet up points for local resident Mohammed Emwazi, who would become known as Jihadi John, and Allexanda Kotey, a Queens Park Rangers fan who grew up just two miles away."

My step-son Ben is playing fiddle with several bands and on his own behalf tonight at Carnegie Hall.
I have dared him to wear hoops, but I suspect he won't.
Very proud of him
It is The Leadbelly Festival which he also played at The Albert Hall.

My favourite changes often.
Was in Catania, Sicily for New Year on of the "snacks" we had with wine was "Giant Platter of Sicilian Cheeses". There was a selection of a dozen cheeses each and everyone became my favourite for a while, until the next one.
So I was intrigued by this
