Kelman?
at 09:01 31 Jan 2025

Glad for him that he is doing well.

Most of the goals have been tap ins, but fair play to the guy.

Perhaps, he is not in our plans, but if he isn't so be it and hope he has a decent career elsewhere.

If he is, in the belief he is later to develop, sure our staff will make the right decision.

If it works though, in reality, who would have thought it..

I know as kids both Lewis Hamilton and his brother learnt how to race on grand prix simulation games. Both said it aided their progress and Lewis's brother who does race, has had the added issue of cerebral palsy.

Abuse in modern football
at 08:31 31 Jan 2025

It's out of control online.

People in the public eye are all open to horrendous abuse at times.

People in the football industry are not considered as human beings, they are simply a good, bad or indifferent player / manager / coach, but that doesn't stop the insults etc.

Yes we all know "Sticks and Stones may break our bones, but names will never hurt us" but if it's constant etc, it can impact.

Ashby closing his social media because of nastiness, I can't understand why people would do that. Even when we are doing exceptionally well, people still like to have a boo boy. I have never got my head around that myself.

As others have said, football doesn't matter at all in the scheme of things. The day my dad passed in the morning, I went to watch London Welsh play Bracknell rugby in the afternoon, ironically the two teams over many year i had gone to watch with him.. Yes the match had zero relevance who won or lost.

Sometimes the written word can be misreprented so someone s dry sense of humour and can be read in a different manner also.

Sometimes I think engaging with the hate it's better to stay away. On occasions on here, I can get too involved and was thinking, time for a break myself.

But yes agree with the saying if you would not say it face to face, don't say it online. Sometimes it's best to keep schtum.

No chance this guy will be signed permanently as Spurs just signed him on a five and a half year contract.

He seems like he could be excellent, so is this some kind of statement that we are seriously attempting for the play offs.

Routledge was a similar loan in our promotion season.

It's the only plausible explanation for me.

Recollections may vary

80s 90s i don't know long time ago

Stan was in the 60s, Les was in the 70s and Karl Ready was post war

You could be correct sir

My mind is not what it once was

And a genius I never was !!!

But 70s 80s 90s 00s 10s and 20s keep going to this dumb ass place in W12

And I do remember how I got there, just about !!!

I think Ashby could come good and if we want to buy we can. I believe that is the current plan with Ashby. He has pace, has skill, is just making some too risky options which really if ironed out, he could definitely improve and end up to be decent.

Santos, either wasn't happy here or was just nowhere near the required standard. Think its a bit of both.

But the Portugese team, can buy him for £1.7 million at the end of the loan and we even have a 25% sell on fee clause also.

Sounds like a very positive deal as tbh he has been bang average, so could work out very well.

Ashby is not ever going to be a Newcastle player but think his potential ceiling is way higher than Santos for me.

Watch this space !!

Nearly a pair of curtains, sported by myself and many other strange individuals in the 80s.

Not sure it's a good thing though in a modern day player

Where's the data with regards to this one, Mr Nourry ???

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Yes full backs both side is where we need loans right now. And Santos leaving also.

Attacking midfielders we are massively well stocked.

I have no issues with loans though, as you can get decent players in for half or a full season at low cost.

We are building up our stock for taking premier league youth players who potentially have star quality and being in London if certain other clubs want to try us out currently we have a decent manager and a growing reputation for developing players and playing attractive football. And clubs want players to stay local so all premiership London clubs could be on our radar possibly.

This particular guy was young player of the season last year in the K league Premier, so no mug and Spurs signed him on five and a half year contract

Appreciate though perhaps not in an area we currently need strengthening.

The messages disappear after few minutes so harder to monitor on Snapchat but used to be for younger people.

WhatsApp messages stay as they do on messenger and normal texting, emails etc.

Facebook for 40s and older. Instagram under 30s. Tik Tok teenagers. X The Trump Family

Multitude of dating sites / apps, don't think it's allowed for under 18s.. But romance scams the worst.

kids and grand kids....
at 00:27 28 Jan 2025

Well i remember my sisters kid playing games on a tablet/ipad at around age 30 months and that was 15 years ago.

I think 12 or 13 is an age when lot of kids have mobiles. Maybe to start with for messaging or calls.

It is possible to restrict certain social media access and also adult sites on the Internet, as a parent, you can set this up and also you can limit usage ie time per day as most kids obviously clearly nassively over use technology today - like we all do tbf.

There is software and apps around that can monitor usage and also there are even more extreme ways of monitoring in that you can know the location of the phone at any moment in time.

I guess this is a good thing but my partners daughter, she used this monitoring app on her ex boyfriend, hence why I think he is now the ex partner !!!

You can Google for all of the above. There are ways to be safe and for parents to feel they have some control but it is a wild wild west out there on the wild wide Web, so hope it all goes ok.

I think it's important to allow some access as all their mates will have and denial could lead to an extremely disgruntled child / teenager !!!

Some compromise with some control is probably the best way forward

Can't see the point in that, when we already have a League 1 striker with 16 goal involvements already in Charlie Kelman.

If we were going down that route, the cheaper option would be chosen, am sure.

Can't see us signing a striker this window though. Not happening.

Team selection for next match
at 10:15 26 Jan 2025

Nardi

Paal Cook Edwards Dunne

Colback Field

Saito Kolli Smyth

Lloyd

Think time to rest a few.

Varane and Morgan on bench for next one.

Chair and Frey also benched for me, think others are currently in better form.

Saito Colback Kolli Lloyd from the start.

I would get Cook in from the start myself also. Fox done nothing wrong but Cook is our leader and we need him back.

The fact Dunne and Paal are always selected when for me both also would benefit from a game on as sub too, but we have zero cover at full back.

And how regularly do we never have cover either full back. Very strange but I see several changes for the next game.

Chair new contract?
at 10:00 26 Jan 2025

How many years is his new contract ??

Was this made public in our new open to news information era ??

One year , three years or ten..

Pointless releasing half the information..

Was this said ???

Is it good news as he has not exactly set the world on fire, since he has been back, but how long is his contract ???

Have I missed something ???

Was in South Africa Road stand.

Didn't think it was massively special at first glance.

Used to think it was an overrated moment.

Kicking a woman in the head is the lowest of the low.

Kicking anyone in the head is ridiculously violent but attacking a woman in such a way is completely indefensible and totally vile.

The worst thing about this is his wife / partner is still with him and is now siding with him saying it didn't happen and the 999 call was inaccurate. She is attending court with him too.

Probably talked her into it. Which is awful in itself also.

One day he is going to do something that there is no coming back from and he will be put away for a very long time.

He never played for our club as far as I am concerned. Erased from our history !!

Genius - thank you.

Finally an opportunity to tell my often told gag.

I have aforesaid tattoo on my genitalia.

It simply says "QPR" but when I am excited it says "QUEENS PARK RANGERS"

For some strange reason my better half, thinks this has no comedy value as I retell it for the umpteenth time !!!
