Like most on here i'm an old b*stard so have been through the mill of it and to be honest i'd say part of the issue with fans now is that we're just completely ground down.
Back in the Branfoot and even Lowe days we felt we could make a difference. The gap between rich and poor clubs wasn't the size of a country, and teams could survive or even do well by having a handful of high quality home grown players, and those players would stay for more than a season (or half a season in worse case scenario).
These days protesting doesn't really do anything, we might get rid of Ankersen but then what? Football itself is just completely f*cking rotten from top to bottom and it's basically p*ssing in the wind trying to go against what's happened.
Even if the club got it's act together - and lets be honest we're talking about post going down and maybe coming back up - and we managed to stay up and maybe even solidify in the league, you know we'd just get raided again and then the downward cycle would start again.
So it's kind of understandable why fans don't have the stomach to protest, it's pointless, and really the protest shouldn't be focussed at Saints anyway.
If we want change, and want improvements we should be going after the whole damn structure of football. The clubs, the leagues, the owners, the tv companies.
Football needs to break to ever get it back, I can't see that happening so instead it's dying a slow death in this country, with the fans being replaced by passive consumers and "content creators" who don't really give a sh*t in the same way |

Martin was absolutely a huge part of the reason and the current situation still is (especially the lack of fitness of the players).
Saying that SR are god awful owners and I think most probably hold Rasmus as the main issue for where we are currently.
Then of course there’s the one truth everyone knows, since losing Ings we haven’t had a capable striker, and until we fix that we have no hope of staying up. |

Got a ticket but can no longer make it so given it to a mate to take his nipper.
Have to say I feel unusually hopeful about it and I think we’ve got a win due based on the last few games.
Saying that Sarr vs our fullbacks terrifies me and I don’t see any way palace done score.
I’m going to be optimistic here and say 2-1 Saints with a brace from totem paul |

1. Great pre match drinks in the dukes head and good to see many of those on here there, has to be one of the most picturesque places for an away in the country.
2. West London pub prices are f*cking offensive
3. The football itself was enjoyable, yeah the game was scrappy and the conditions weren’t perfect but the players actually fought for it and we were unlucky not to get something.
4. The tall paul song about his nob is deeply f*cking weird, we need something a lot better than that for him because it’s embarrassing that’s our choice
5. If only we’d got rid of martin earlier I genuinely think we’d have a fighting chance of staying up, this squad isn’t as bad as people think |

Into heavy metal music, starts fist fights with board members and happy to have a pop at the players, fans and media.
No idea what he's like as a manager but at least he'll be a laugh as a character.
To be honest whoever we get we're going down, so long as he doesn't play god awful sideways and backwards football i'm happy enough to give the fella a chance. |

Whoever it is I just want someone that doesn't play the coma inducing god awful tippy tappy b*llocks.
I've genuinely been the most bored i've ever been watching Martin's teams and it's seriously made me question going to games.
In fact of my 40+ years of going it's been the style of football i've enjoyed the least, it sucked all of the fun, enjoyment and escapism out of the game.
I'm not saying I want route one direct either, but just something played at a speed faster than walking football, and where players actually tried to get in behind and shoot would be decent.
If we go for another sideways, backwards, snails pace manager I might genuinely consider giving up the season ticket |

I thought the reason the rat was brought back was because he was threatening to pull his nipper out of our academy?
Also the club don't think he's capable of being manager so it was never even entertained as an idea. |
