As have the owners. Selling your best player on the (relative) cheap while rock bottom. Think one spot is locked in down there |

Said it tongue in cheek last night, but if Lloyd keeps developing like we’ve seen this season he will be much more useful than Armstrong ever will be - despite the superior physical attributes Armstrong has. If he can consistently receive the ball up top, hold it, bring it down etc while also being able to run channels and make defenders run towards their own goal, we have a proper striker for the level. Armstrong only ever had the physical qualities and BC fans I know are already saying that he doesn’t offer anything besides that. Lloyd will still need to improve his game in the box but those technical improvements alone in his touch and hold up make him a much more threatening player than Armstrong will be, because teams will know he can do both sides of the game (whereas Sincs just gets read easily and teams know what’s going to do before he does it). Lloyd has really really impressed me these last few outings, and the coaching of him is top notch. |

Captain Chaos v2.0 with new and improved first touch, hold up and link play - beware Championship. Clear MOTM for me. He just feels like a QPR player, bit mad, bit raw, all heart |

All very well having the best stadium in league 1 mind. It’s not mutually exclusive as you lot have proved. Find the whole debate here a bit misleading, it’s fundamentally about making good decisions (on players, managers, club upgrades etc etc). With more money the stakes on those decisions are higher, so getting them right pays off big time and getting them wrong screws you for, in our case, a decade. All the clubs that have done it successfully have smart people upstairs who get those calls right (all the bs - Brentford, Brighton, Bournemouth). Nourry might be that smart person, we don’t know yet, but we know our owners are not those smart people. Just have to hope when the time comes we have someone who can get the big decisions right, because if fecking Bournemouth can be 5th then we have to aspire to at least be at the bloody table. |

This is increasingly giving me PTSD. They’re one Benoit Assou Ekotto away from waking up and it’s 2014. |

This. The amount of WhatsApp group chats covering the points gap to 6th on a minute by minute basis 3-5pm Saturday was amusing. Remember when we were all dancing into the early hours after beating Grealish et al under McClaren - ended well! Personally content to just enjoy the feeling of not being terminally anxious every weekend, and support the team with some optimism [Post edited 19 Jan 20:53]

If he could spray 30 yard passes round the gaffe, finish from 12 yards consistently, and kept all of his defensive attributes - he would not be playing in the bloody championship for us. I don’t really know what anyone on here could want more from Field. He isn’t Faurlin on the ball, fine, but name one player in the league who has Field’s defensive quality and that sort of ball playing ability. Pie in the sky stuff [Post edited 19 Jan 19:55]

Should not have been that nervy. Need to develop into a more clinical side before we can realistically think about troubling the top 6. Not just missed chances but the amount of times we are in really good attacking positions and then mess it up. Edwards and Fox excellent, but highlight for me was Kolli’s finish - such a natural finisher. Him and Morgan showing all their talent again. Enjoy the good times, and remember where we were in November! |

Thanks for writing these up Clive. Without wanting to sound cynical, there’s no tangible shift here beyond letting us know when players are injured. Academy/scouting stuff all looks good as does the approach to loans. But if anyone is buying the idea not revealing contract lengths maximises revenue please buy my bridge. Morgan going for 5, 10, 15, 20 million will not be dependent on whether we and other clubs know he’s signed a 3/4/5 year deal. For someone who talks so much about the analytics side of football I find this hill he’s dying on so strange. Clearly not going to change, will irk me for as long as he’s here, but best get used to it. |

Lovely stuff, and well deserved. Hopefully they can get deals over the line soon for Dunne and Kolli. And even tell us, that’d be nice. Given where we are now I think these 3 deals would be better than any new signings (maybe LB aside). Sure there are still plenty “sign a f**** striker” loyalists out there who will explain otherwise, but looking around league at the cost of players moving this month (that lad at Luton, Taylor?, has barely played a game above L1 level has just gone for £3m to Huddersfield) I highly doubt we will see anymore than one in, and that’ll be our final loan spot. |

If there has ever been evidence these wind up merchants are looking for nibbles, claiming a 6-1 loss away at Blackpool (*blackpool*) is equivalent to a 3-0 during a busy Xmas run at a decent Swansea team is it. Don’t bite |

Some list of gargantuan victories that for the most expensively assembled squad in championship history. Just makes the run Marti has them on even more impressive. And, as must always be said, f*** the Redknapps. |

Proper game that. Could easily have been 4-3. Really good entertainment (obviously only if you win it). Falling back in love with it all after a really depressing last couple of years. Thank you Marti, and thank the lord the board didn’t listen to the noise |

These lot are rumoured to buy Ebs every window, every window we have this thread, every window the inevitable conclusion materialises that Daniel Levy has no interest in paying the money required to get the players good enough to challenge the top end of prem Looking forward to July for another jaunt around the Eze-Spurs merry go round [Post edited 3 Jan 11:49]

A non scoring striker, who has a singular purpose of disrupting the flow of a game (ideally once you’ve gone 1-0 up with a goal off someone’s arse from a corner). Has there ever been a more Scott Parker signing |

Great report as always. As well as tackling, grafting, kicking, shouting more - I think a big change has been a clinical edge and focus on being good in both boxes (and caring less about what happens between them). For far too long (since Warbs really) we’ve often shelled out that Watford performance, now we’re actually a tiny bit ruthless. Maybe we really are becoming Preston of old |

Can’t be too upset there. Once field went off it was the Alamo. Was expecting 3/4-0 so a point undoubtedly a good result. I know everyone wants a ST on loan, but my word if Cook and Morrison are out for more than 1-2 months we cannot survive with that back 4 every week. Loans needed, yet again, in January. |

I’d rather the increased communication was focused on injury news (which they now do so fair play), timely release of contractual information (now begins the long wait to see if Jimmy Dunne is a QPR player 1 July 2025 and for how long - will keep banging this drum), and off pitch focused updates (I don’t think we need gpt Nourry telling us why our form is bad or we’ve had injuries. We can see that one Christian). In general I agree this is better, but a bit more of a refined focus would be more productive. It still feels like he wants to talk about on the pitch stuff when it suits and ignore it when it suits. Pick an approach and stay consistent regardless of results. QPR have had chancers for years and the people around him should be advising that we will see through that sort of flip flop, credit-taking/shirking routine |
