Sparkyfilms picking up on one of your earlier comments every business is for sale at the right price regardless of whether they are a football club or not. M & T are never, imo going to be anymore than a minor club and certainly there best hope was when they could call upon Colchester players and even managers such as Wayne Brown but as we found they were his level in the skill set arena. Would think, again imo Cowling and his family will be glad to be out of this money pit and able to concentrate resources on Colchester United and the golf course both of which make more financial sense. Hopefully for them money has been made from the sale of M & T and the land which will more than compensate what has been burnt through during the year's of ownership.
Could well continue as they might like the income from what they could charge Colchester. Does this mean Liam Bailey has now with severed his links with Colchester as, has he not been Coach for the Under 21's? Would think RC glad to get rid as must have soaked up cash with attendances of 200!
Feel DC/NC/RC have done a decent job this window. Got rid of a few and brought in some experience and youth who could benefit us in the future. Interesting KVY said he has been training with us for a couple of weeks so we must have assessed him well enough. If he is 75% of the player he wasvwhen he left us be a more than useful addition.
These rumours been knocking around on the Facebook group for a number of days but frankly don't put a lot of credance in them as many of the contributors are totally put of touch with reality.
See DC still hoping to bring a couple more in but dependent upon players going out. Assume Tom H going so.ewhere but who else likely to move on? Read maybe as not getting much gametime.
Not done his chances much good ny saying, when interviewed that playing at Sourhend was great because of the fan base and felt when playing for Colhester it was like playing during Covid!
A real case of be careful what you wish for. We might be sort of funds for transfers but not in this situation! Yes we might have to sell our best on a regular basis bit it could be worse.
I suspect we have paid an amount extra to what they would have earned if they had remained so that for the remainder of the contract period with s they would not be worse off.
Since it was mutually agreed I suspect money was saved particularly as done giving them chance to find alternative employment. DC is quoted in Gazette as saying both have clubs to go to and rumour for Jay is Torquay which is his hometown. The mutual agreement would mean we will almostcertainly only be paying up part of their contracts so together the savings likely as not will help is bring one loan in as loaning club almost certainly will pay part of players salary.
Jay & Greenidge had contracts cancelled by mutual consent. Whilst I don't suppose the saving is great between them we might make room on budget for a loan as loaning club will contribute something.
