What's he subverting other than decency? If he lived in China he would be Xi's best mate. |

| Forum Reply | Hughes said we deserved to win at 09:47 26 Nov 2018
Yes - it looked even worse in the highlights than live. Yoshi is not the tallest CB but being outjumped by a midget?? Also, the two goals came from midfield. Other than Ings the forward line has produced 1 goal this season. Gabbi's miss had to be seen to be believed... |

I assume he is including himself in the statement - very strange thing to say and surely, if sanctioned by a club, a sign of Hughes' imminent fate. |

I always understood you had to play all your home games in a season on the same ground. Would a 'smaller' team have got away without a massive fine and points deduction? |

Why should anyone care what Le God says on Twitter. If he wants to have a go at Liverpool then fine by me. I never read any of this social media stuff and for those easily offended, as those moaning about MLT obviously are, then I would suggest following my lead. |
| Forum Reply | Would you really want this team to win the FA cup? at 22:42 20 Apr 2018
What is the point of supporting a team if you don't want them to win? As for us winning it being 'tainted' like the Poopey win was that is absurd. Poopey were corrupt and bought the cup by financial skullduggery. You may not like our current bunch of players but if they beat Chelski and then Spuds they will have certainy proved themselves deserving. I think this wanting us to go down/not win the cup is a psychological state a bit like sour grapes: we know we are going down so we didn't want to stay up anyway - so that's alright then |

"At the moment the only thing going wrong in the club is the footballing side of things" and "So it is just football going wrong". Unless we became an ice hockey franchise overnight those statements will go down in TUI history as everyone is ploughing in to point out. I don't think Nick meant it quite like that and I am actually more interested in this thing about the lines of management/responsibility etc being blurred. A club that had established itself as a top 8 club and was much admired by others and that actually came 6th above Liverpool and Chelsea and only 3 points from CL is now, just a few months later, going to be relegated. I ask the simple question: Is NO ONE at the club going to take responsibility for this??? Is there such a vacuum in responsibility at the club that all of the dud signings, the dud managerial appointment(s), the failure to address failings that were obvious to ALL OF US over a period of months - is that all just nobody's fault? |

I agree with you on Mitchell - I think that, along with the blame apportioning that happens at times like this, there tends to be a hero worship for departed people on 'if only they had stayed it would have all been fine' type lines. Cortese is the usual 'king over the water' but Mitchell is also mentioned. Of course, no-one knows what would have happened if they, or others, had stayed. All I know is that Les DID stay and we are going down. |

That's a good point - but we haven't been getting similar 'discoveries' lately have we? With Mitchell we got some excellent signings + a few duds - without him we have been getting the duds without the successes. Also Tadic and Long were successes for a while - they just seemed to get worse as the team got worse, not necessarily the fault of the original 'signer'. Les was happy to be seen as the big man in charge while things were going well and now he has to take responsibility. Simple as that. |

Reed is responsible for assembling the team we watched on Saturday. He sat next to them, beaming away, when they signed for us. They are indeed extremely well paid 'professionals' but the fact is they are not good enough. Replace Redmond with Mane, Gabby with Pelle and Lemina with Wanyama and the team is good enough. Teams go down because the players aren't good enough. We've all been calling for sacking the manager or 4-4-2 or for Jake Simms or for uncle Tom Cobley but basically the team that Les assembled/allowed to develop is full of players who ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH. |

Yes - I thought back to that particular article, and indeed re-read it. It did hint at problems ahead although I think most of us thought players rather than RoKo - after all, he was 'honourable'. Very well done on that though, unless I misinterpreted, you later told us to "stay calm" once the rumours resurfaced. Good advice of course but I think it was based on the assumption that the rumours were nonsense... |
