Swans players feel disrespected by their contract offers *Latest
at 18:59 28 Oct 2024

If this is to make the club look financially secure to potential investors, then they must be looking very short term. Losing 2 of your most valuable assets for free and then needing to make expensive investments to replace them, won't give the indication of a well run club.

Isn't Kyrell Wilson a pacey striker? The way we stroll forwards might not suit him

Thus is the same MP who was calling for sentences of over 10 years for anyone caught up in the riots.
On that basis he should be looking at 10 years himself.
Two Tier Kier will probably see him let off with a caution

We moved out the 2 strikers to make way for signings. Then didn't buy a striker. We bought Eom and Franco, who have been good. Plus, reportedly a lot of money for Bianchinni a 3rd tier French winger.
If the clear out was to balance the books, then why take a big risk on a player in a position that has already been strengthened

Williams looks completely lost.
Yesterday we started with 2 strikers, a right winger and an attacking midfielder on the left wing.
We ended with 2 wingers and 2 CAM and no striker when we were 0-0 at home and then ended up losing.
We have pace out wide but neither pace nor physicality in the middle. Neither winger is great in front of goal either.
It looks like a team made up from a bunch of different ideas none of which work together

I don't imagine this is the squad that he wanted by wouldn't he want to see what he is going to have before allowing them both to leave.
The two of them freed up space in the budget for what? Bianchinni and Vipotnik.
£2M on a player who had been in the French 3rd tier and scored 5 all season.
Someone at the club recruitment is seriously failing in their duties. I just can't see that Williams has no involvement in it at all

Having only 2 strikers has to be his fault to some extent.
We spent £4M on two strikers in 2023, now both of those are out on loan. They were both sent out before we brought in Vipotnik on a free. Arguably, neither if them coukd be doing any worse.
If he has no say in these decisions then it would make his position untenable.
As a football manager, one good season can set you up for life.
A bad season and you may never be heard from again.
If Williams has so little say that they ship out all of his strikers against his wishes, then he'd have been better off walking away

At the moment, I don't know why we font resign Bony.
It's not like he needs to be fast, just a physical presence in the box who can hit the target

479 passes against 187, 72% possession and not once were we offside!!
Either we are really good at timing runs or we make no effort to get in behind their defence and instead slowly walk forward.

We haven't had a really successful outfield loan for a few years.
Clubs maybe reluctant to send their top players here at the moment.
Also, my understanding was that this season we would look to buy players rather than loan in players in key areas. It's a good idea in theory, but where we have clear gaps they should have been filled with loans.
However, I would assume that the best ones are very much in demand and you have to be quick to get a deal in place. We obviously had permanent targets, failed to complete those deals and then by the time it was clear that we weren't going yo get those deals completed, we are left scrambling around for what is left in terms of loans.
We do best when a manager has good contacts and speaks to the players he wants well in advance. Rather than some plans based around scouting players and being just one of many clubs trying for the same ones.
Geographically we are at a disadvantage. We tend to need a personal relationship with the best players in order to get them interested

Our use of the loan market has been very poor again this season. There is sense in not building the whole team around loans, but we've brought in loan players who aren't good enough to feature at all.

LW has tried to make it more exciting, attack oriented by bringing in numerous wingers. The problem is that the midfield give them no support and the forwards are awful.
Eom and Ronald are two of our more successful buys recently.
But a midfield of Grimes and Fulton aren't giving any support and Cullen is no striker

He might have been highly rated, but we signed Piroe at the same time. How did they anticipate them working together given their playing styles?

That summer, rather than spend £1m on Gyokeres who had spent 6 months at the club and we had had a good look at. We spent £2M on Michael Obafemi, who we had only done a bit of scouting on.
Not only was he more expensive, he was also rather too similar to Piroe who we also signed that summer.
We would have had a front 2, with Gyokeres at 6 foot 2 and a smaller Piroe behind him at number 10.
Rather than a short, but quick, Obafemi and short Piroe, that ne er really worked well together.

Is it the job of the manager?
A lot of the time these days they aren't "the manager" but "first team coach" or any number of variants on that.
The club have back room staff, such as Director of Football, who are there to ensure continuity throughout the Club. They are there to ensure that decisions are made that are the best for the long term future of the club and to look beyond the immediate needs of the first team, such as long term recruitment plans.
The first team coach is there to get results in the here and now.
We have spent a lot of money on youngsters who aren't quite ready, but there is belief that they coukd make it.
Some do, many don't. Very few go on to be €100m strikers.
We were offered him for £1M, someone dropped a big one and I don't think it was entirely the managers fault

There was never really a Swansea Way, the style of play changed frequently over the years. As for the idea thar we traded players a certain way, that's total rubbish as well. There was plenty of poor recruitment decisions along with a few good ones. I'm sure that no one is claiming the Craig Beattie and Shefqi Kuqi were some sort of recruitment master strokes, along with masses of other poor signings.

The problem for the last 10 years is that everything that we have done has been without any clear direction. If we sign good players, we sell them. If we get a good manager, they are let go for the profit it makes. We don't build anything over a number of years. We get to the end of the season and see what can we cash in on.

As for a lack of striker, Rodgers didn't have a decent striker. Similar scored the goals coming in off of the wing. It's just that we had thrust, pace and attacking movement from a number of areas, rather than possession for possessions sake

This is the sad state that America has got too.
Anything that you read is "Fake news", brainwashing media.
Everything I read is "the real truth that they don't want you to hear".
It's a very deranged and dangerous situation to be in.
