Nelsen and Johnson have been added as squad depth so are decent signings.
I agree that the squad is on the old side but I would guess it's easier to convince a player on the downside of his career to come and play 10 - 15 games a season than it is a 24 year old on the way up.
As a so called smaller club we will have to accept that for the next few seasons we will be signing a mixture of previously unknowns and 30 something names looking for a last big contract. |

Jeff - I have got the Mrs interested in a few games which was no mean feat as she is American but I think if I took her away to Sunderland for a weekend she would file divorce papers.
It's like that fantasy of your woman wearing an R's shirt in bed - been there as a teenager and it was horrible as I was convinced i was about to have sex with Simon Barker as she had short blonde hair...

Having a wife from Indiana I have been in the company of Amish people on numerous occasions and find them all a decent bunch with great fresh produce markets. The Amish teenagers get a year off at 18 where they are encouraged to go out and drink, smoke and shag as much as they want before coming back into the community if they choose to - and 99% of them do.

I still have doubts he will sign. Another club will surely come in at the last minute and make a deal. Real quality players don't sign for us do they?
Sure he may be a couple of sandwiches short of a picnic. I would hate him dating my (non existent) daughter but would love him playing for my football club. |

Briatore flogged nearly all his shares to Ecclestone so is not a majority shareholder and the 4 year plan had us challenging Milan in Europe - goal posts moved but don't let facts get in the way!

Paladini's position is untenable but does anyone actually believe he will step down?
The guy clearly has no sense of integrity and will continue to embarrass our club.
Whoever is in charge at the start of the season needs to give him a powerless position on the board and gently ease him out. With him captaining the ship we hit an iceberg and somehow escaped without sinking. It cannot be allowed to happen again. |
