Saw him in Vienna recently on his farewell tour...his voice is pretty much gone, but it was still excellent. I will miss the big man when he retires... [Post edited 28 Oct 18:34]

One more experience, one more entry in a diary self penned...not my words but lyrics by my favorite singer. Not a QPR supporter I must add and I ignored the following "emotional suicide " line. Anyway this song came to my mind as I will be over for the Sunderland game. I found that quite fitting, especially when I had a look on sunday at where they are in the table. Still look forward to the game as I dont really like watching on the Stream. Being there and soaking up the whole match day experience is so much better, even more so when the result goes our way. To side step our game a bit my wife, footballing daughter and me watched the ManCity Ladies when they played in Vienna. Chloe Kelly came over to us especially when she saw us waving a QPR shirt. We had a little chat and she asked if I support QPR from afar and when I said yes, she replied "for your sins ". Finally, I have got a SPARE ticket as my mate who would have us from Wales had an eye operation and cant go now. So if there is interest and you dont mind sitting next to me get in touch.. |

Well, I am confused...l will be over in the UK at the end of October staying near Cardiff but we (wife, two kids, a mate and me)can make the Sunderland game, going to London from Cardiff on Saturday morning. Officially it is a 3pm k.o.at the moment, so this would give me time to check into the hotel at Heathrow (we are going back on sunday)and get to the game. But an earlier kick off would be awkward. When are such things moved? Month earlier or weeks or days or 5 minutes before ko? Pretty annoying as I should get the tickets in time too...oh and not forgetting the pre match drink, usually part of the match day... |

Goalkeeper's union? It is a hard job... |

Congratulaions, I can absolutlely relate to that feeling - it is just great. My stepdaughter joined Austria Vienna last summer and plays for their U 16, she also had one game for the 2nd team, where she even kept a clean sheet which was great for a goalie. With the higher intensity in training and games it was a huge step up. So good luck to your daughter, hope she will enjoy the experience, thats the main thing! |

Yeah, thanks, we won our Group ahead of France and Holland, probably deservedly so, but they have gone on to the QF and we are out... |

I am Austrian, so obviously it was the best save ever. 😉 |

I am not really a collector but I do remember the Record And Tape Exchange-was it in Goldhawk Road? I thought that was excellent, always brought plenty of LPs back to Austria. It was pretty awkward as at that time I used to travel on trains. And as I usually went there when watching QPR I remember taking the records into the ground..Never had a problem... Still buy a lot, but it is CDs nowadays, have not gone back to vinyl...(yet)... |

Top report as usual... I am on holiday now myself and I have to say that the experiences you had in a week in Austria I never had in the more than sixty years I have been living here. Perhaps I am reading the wrong books... As for the game, I thought it was an ok performance, plenty of chances to score but scoring is something we don't do plus their keepers had inspired games. Next day in the newspaper I read Hartberg vs. Blackburn 0-6. Hartberg are in the top division over here, mid table usually... Well meaningless friendlies... Anyway great to see /meet so many of you and Clive... just keep going... |

Clive, I know I said yesterday that we won't go to Steyr on Saturday but I already had doubts in my mind when I said it. So when my wife asked me on the way back why we don't go to Steyr I had no answer. Then I got a message from a mate saying he will go - to cut a long story short, we will be there on Saturday. As l said, regardless of this being a pre season friendly if we don't manage a half decent performance and a win against them it would be extremely embarrassing. They just got relegated from the second division and Oleg Blochin played for them in the Seventies so we don't have to fear him. Anyway hope to see you again on Saturday until then enjoy your Austrian Tour... |

I was at that game too, but I went to an Irish Pub in the City center with a couple of mates... No beer this time as I have to drive home after the game, but I know they have got some decent ones up there... |

So game one of the new season is nearly upon us. I have decided to go to the Slavia game and I will be setting off on Friday morning. Luckily I can tie in some work commitments that day, then stay overnight somewhere close by and have an enjoyable Saturday - hopefully. It will take me over three hours by car one way and I know friendlies are meaningless, too many substitutions, tired players and the weather forecast says it is going to be hot but you know what? I am really looking forward to the game... |

It is the tour organisers who organise opponents and venues so it is down to them. As there are many foreign clubs in Austria for summer training camps they should have enough experience. There is a second game by the way in a decent stadium against an admittedly not so attractive opponent. It's the one I will go to, it will take me more than two hours by car each way... |

Actually I would be very surprised if the game is not played in Rohrbach Berg. It is very common that friendlies during training camps take place at lower league grounds. By the way where are QPR based during the camp? Anyway I will try to phone the local club tomorrow to find if they know anything about it (today is a holiday over here) |
| Forum Reply | Austria pre-season at 17:27 7 Jun 2023
I certainly can't claim to know much about the area, but the address of Rohrbach Berg may well be correct. The local team seems to play in the fifth tier seemingly. Anyway I have more chance to make the Vorwärts Steyr game. They have been relegated by the way... Their claim to fame.. Oleg Blochin used to play for them in the Eighties... 41 games, 9 goals (ok, I looked that up) |

Another one who is taking an interest in the Ladies games, Obviously living in Austria I can't get to QPR games but my stepdaughter plays and will be joining Austria Vienna under 16 in the summer. She already played for the U19 in an Indoor Tournament and there really was some impressive football on show. So all I can say is support the girls, it is honest football with no little skill... |
| Forum Reply | Chloe Kelly scores the winner then holds a qpr flag at 07:46 1 Aug 2022
Congratulations, really enjoyed that and a staunch QPR supporter scoring the winning goal was wonderful. The Lionessess are playing here in Austria on September 3rd,probably their first game after this triumph. It is a World Cup qualifier, but both teams are through already... Anyone considering to come over? I will be there, probably wearing my QPR shirt.. |
