Confirmed that Samba went back yesterday
Barton got the same pre-season info as all others players but did not show up on Monday for training and he does not know where he is and will not use Twitter.

Claren is an excellent coach and being out of work is a waste of his talents
Samba went back for £12m so we got our money back and that has given us a war chest to get 5-6 new players in
Usual other stuff about needing a squad that is together.
However!
That is the first interview with him in the last 3mths where he actually sounded a little bit up beat and interested in the season ahead.
He said he HAS to get QPR back up this season for personal pride and if not then he will be off.

I'm not unhappy with most of that. Even the Maclaren comment. He is not a manager. Barton needs a sick note otherwise his wages will stop (fat chance).

Always neglecting to understand that issue of personal responsibility for ones own actions. Unprofessional and essentially incompetent. Just really want rid of him, but clear he is doing all he can to push things to the edge. Sooner he understands that his pay check far exceeds his ability and his value is far less than his ego then it may just work out. Can't seeing what passes for intellectual thought in his head really understanding true self worth or humility. |  |

So Barton's back training with QPR today, albeit 2 days late and stayed at Mackie's house last night. Which says 2 things to me..
1) He continues to do exactly as he pleases as Redknapp confirmed he received exactly the same training notice as everybody else and
2) He no longer has a home base local to the club so really must believe he is going to end up elsewhere (Marseille) [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]
