I thought of the Michael Owen incident too, he must be at least out of the rest of the playoff campaign and possible missing the start of next season which would rule out any possible move to a PL club if Palace fail to win promotion.

I played in a game were a teammate in his early 20's fell over as he was running towards the ball as the half time whistle went, we took the p##s out of him as he layed in the middle of the pitch while we had the half time break, it turned out his knee injury was so severe he never played football again.
