With regards to the free kids thing, the steward stood directly outside the away stand entrance told us. Not sure why, none of us had any kids with us.

not sure about this with the kids go free bit. It was only for certain areas which I think were the family stand in the seated area and the home terrace. The club have been doing loads of promotions to try to get people down to the ground I've not kept up with the terms and conditions.

With my little stick of Blackpool Rock, along the promenade I'll stroll

The main problem is the only public bar at the club is smaller than Studds (next to main entrance) and obviously the club want to look after their regular supporters who come every game.

Which is like saying you can only drink in a pub at weekend if you go in there all week, which is ridiculous when you could have upwards of 50 people wanting to give you money.

Obviously Morecambe have enough and can afford to turn people away.

The thing is, as an away fan you get into the habit of going to the same pre-match venue year after year, especially if it's a good one, such as The Shrimp carvery, Old Red Lion at Barnet, etc.

If Morecambe one day wake up and realise the policy they have imposed on Dale fans this season is pointless, no Dale fans will be bothered anymore as they have sourced out better alternatives.

Like I said, money is obviously no object.

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

Please will you investigate. The word tinpot certainly springs to mind. Looks like a. turnstile operator will have enjoyed a few extra pints last night.

Not sure Morecambe need advice from Rochdale on marketing!

And wasn't it Rochdale who moved pies from the tea bars in the home area to the away area because they were running out and they charge away fans more?

Yeah, but it's only fair that we're consistent when pointing out clubs at our level could do better.

Isn't that new building by the entrance to the new ground going to be a pub? It looked like it from the notice outside the building. Perhaps Morecambe have a share in or own that.

They did run out of money when they got to that stand! It was planned to have a roof on it but it was dropped as costs went up.

That explains it

I hope we aren't happy with the reply. Surely they should know how many juniors paid into the ground. To be quite honest I was happy for the offer not to be extended to the away fans but they did - and it was after my two had paid to get in the ground.

I am happy to contact them myself but would maybe prefer it to be done by the trust. An apology would have done for me, rather than making out that Rochdale fans are nasty and made them break the rules. An apology to those of us who just blindly paid in would have been fine.

Very disappointed with that response. The word TINPOT is now in capitals.

Their reply is very unsatisfactory.

I can't believe they don't seem to think there are holes in their policy and the way it was carried out on Saturday.

Perhaps Blackpool/Southport/MorecambeCol will be able to explain more.

Chaps,

The offer was for "under 14s" but all concessions go through the turnstile so I think it is fair what Mr Dixon has asked as obviously over 14s but still children and "recycled teenagers" went through that turnstile.

The fact that the offer was for certain home areas and was then extended to the away terrace would normally be applauded. I would have expected the turnstiles to open around 1:30pm and if at 2pm following customer feedback the club have decided to extended the offer to the away terrace then obviously anyone who had already entered would not have been aware at the time of entry as, lets be fair, neither would the gateperson. The new instruction would then have to go out to the gateperson at that point and be implemented.

I can not comment on what seems to be implied in the replies to Mr Dixon's statement as I am not, and have never been, an expert in the regulations of special offers in the form of tickets!
