The worst goalkeeper we’ve had in the last 15 years…how has this happened?!
Just goes to show so much about ‘making it’ is a mixture of luck and being in the right place at the right time.

Before the kick in the head at Villa he was one of our better keepers that we have had. Far better than Begovich et al.

The grass is always greener.

Was at the game on Friday night, Lumley was fine without having too much to do. The VAR though, oh man. However bad it was on TV, it can't have been worse than in the stadium. 5 or 6 minutes of sitting around looking at a screen saying 'VAR Check in Progress'. No updates, no idea whats going on, having to read the live text on the BBC website on our phones to see what they're actually checking. I'm not sure I could sit and watch QPR games with VAR, I'm more than likely out.

A goalkeeper who is poor with his feet playing for a team who can’t play out from the back .
What could possibly go wrong?

Playing the ball out in the Southampton style. Two very poor decisions I’m sorry to say, but that’s what the boss wants. It’s bonkers.

Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?

Been watching & Joe hasn’t learnt about playing out from back, massive errors

I know this wont be a popular post but Chelsea are looking really good this season. They have quietly snuck up to joint second spot and play some very attractive stuff plus have no issued finding the back of the net

It's called 'saying the quiet bit out loud', it's bad manners and no, we don't approve.

Refuse to watch them and won't have any of their players in my FPL team.

Childish and limiting my ability to win anything, but denying their existence works for me.

Plastic club through and through...

They may have beaten us 6-1 in that cash league they own a few years back, but it wasn't a 6 NIL on that wonderful day in the mid 80s.

Scum club.

Not worth worrying about...

Can we go out yet?

He was terrible though. Flapping a every cross and getting bullied. The only thing that will take the heat off him is that the rest of the Southampton team were equally as culpable. The red card for pulling on Cruella's hair for goodness sake? I know he has a terrible barnet, but come on.

Red card was a joke. Kids in playgrounds tug worse than that and don't hit the deck the way he (and other players) do.

True, but he flapped at the corner for the first, gave the ball away for the third and then beaten near post for the fifth.
I actually think he did all of them whilst with us, so at least he's consistent.

He wasn't even good enough for the Championship, how has he managed to play in the PL?!

Agree with all points.

I just think it's pure Martin, that passing out from the back goal. He's your third choice keeper, you know he's ropey, you're playing Chelsea, I reckon your ideals can take a sit down for a night and you just go a bit more direct and tell him not to do any of that. Simplify, simplify, simplify. Needs must. Pragmatism.

Not getting the Bayern job if you do that though.
