"Gregg Wallace has hit back at allegations of historic misconduct, saying they have come from a "handful of middle-class women of a certain age".

Keep digging that hole a little deeper Greggg .

Kirstie Allsopp has now accused Gregg Wallace of making inappropriate comments when they worked together!!

Everyday above ground ... Is a good day! 😎

Auntie Beeb in the mire again regarding these Presenters , radio had a few iffy ones too .

CRB checks should be the norm in workplace enviroment now but none of these checks will get to the thoughts of a persons real aim inside , sadly other people think bantz is a laff .

Seen situations were banter goes totally out of control leading to confrontation in the workplace , thankfuly testoerone related and a bit of fun from only side of the situation .

Questions again will be asked , why so long for these claims to surface to now being brought up so late in the day .

Appreciate Jim had friends in very high places covering everything up , BBC hang your head in shame over that monster , but a greengrocer with a bit of cheeky chappie , you failed .

So let me get this right. Self empowered middle aged women aren’t able to stand up for themselves? They do women a total disservice in my eyes.

There'll be lots of reasons these women didn't come forward at the time.

- Maybe they thought they wouldn't be believed (not surprising with what's come to light recently)
- Maybe they were worried they'd be branded a troublemaker and lose out on work
- Maybe the power dynamic between them and the star of the show presented a problem
- Maybe they thought they were the ony one
- Maybe they were embarrassed
- Maybe they didn't want to spoil the show

We don't know. What we do know is victim blaming can also contibute to these things coming to light.

Number 10 getting involved now, obviously this is the most important thing happening in the World today. It's up to his employer to deal with it not the fooking government!

Yep, I can't believe this is headline news.

Some of these allegations are going back 17 years ago when the workplaces were far different from what they are now.

Should I complain about the lewd comments made at me when I used to go up & see the ladies in customer services around the same time as (some of) these accusations were made?

I'm not defending Wallace, but it is staggering that no woman has faced similar charges. Before the younger generation say what, yes we were subjected to similar by older female staff when I was young, we knew who they were and tried to avoid them. Times were very very different then and things have moved on, but yes it did happen.

Christie Tyler's in the mid-80s used to strip new male employees, put them in a cage & push them down a line where female machinists worked.

Wallace is no doubt a bit of a tosser, but he's obviously upset someone in the Beeb, and they are after him.

He may as well just play it out and get as much money as he can before he retires.

Its not headline news.

We’re talking Kirsty Wark here mind. How many of her interviews could be construed as bullying? People in glass houses etc etc

I only watched the show a couple of times and there seemed to be an element of innuendo in the whole thing. I am aware of giggling at the "flabby bottom" for a failed flan.

"That's life" in the past did this sort of thing for laughs.

BBC are very quick to name GW what a pity they were not so forthcoming about naming that news reader who committed a far more serious crime.

But what has happened to innocent until proven guilty in the UK its trial by media .

Kirsty Wark was just one of the accusers. I’d also say that her relationship with the people she interviews are different from the ones Wallace has in his shows. It’s all about the power dynamic.

Some seem to have become hung up about the older allegations, ignoring the more recent ones that were dismissed by bosses (not the BBC in the case of Masterchef as it’s made by another company).

It’s not a case of being found guilty either. You don’t have to break the law to be dismissed.

The grounds for dismissal have to be in line with the Employment Law Act 1996, as you say you don't necessarily have to have committed a criminal offence

If you look up the rumours about the way he supposedly treated his pervious Wifes, I'm not surprised that something like this has surfaced.

I can't stand the bloke myself which is a shame because I wouldn't watch Masterchef because he was there and its a decent watch, hopefully it'll continue and go from strength to strength.

He's trying to make out he was under duress when he said what he said over the weekend, only heard a bit of what he said, but I didn't hear an apology.
