Fan Mobilisation - Nourry Out 23:26 - Nov 9 with 35824 viewsMarkofthegrove

I'll start by saying, this is not my forum usually. But the artist formally known as Twitter has become an echo chamber of monstrous proportion.

Nourry needs to be removed from his post ASAP before he can do any more damage, there is a vandalism of our club happening and it needs to stop immediately.

But how do we do it? I feel like fans and supporters groups have been weak for a long time now. There were some great folk back when we are in administration that were with QPR 1st.

I've heard rumours of some stuff happening, but it needs to be coordinated and it needs to happen ASAP.

I'd honestly be close to being done with QPR if they sack Marti who is the only bloody good thing about this club right now.

Someone needs to bring this together, protests for protests sake do not work. It needs to have purpose, be targeted and ask the right questions and have the right people involved.

Correct. It cannot work. It is not working. It will not work with any manager The Fraud hires afterwards either.

Collective approach, manager getting a final approval on the player (not the financial side)? That was our previous model. And is most clubs’.

A collaborative approach works at most clubs in this league and even in the premier league, most clubs do it this way. But you need to have the right people. We do not have the right people. We have a snake oil salesman that's had no prior experience working at a football club before running the WHOLE show.

Yes I get that Clive but am still missing something.

Andy Belk is head of recruitment with our football minded CEO.

Taking the head of recruitment job title literally what is does Nourry mean by Belk having ''more responsibility.''

Does it mean Belk's player recommendations carry more weight?
Does it mean he is getting involved in other things outside of his remit?

The DOF (Nourry) shapes the overall transfer and recruitment strategy, evaluates priorities for squad composition, identifies specific regions and markets to shop in, and identifies age demographics and experience levels needed in the squad.

Whilst the head of recruitment (Belk) carries out the transfer strategy operationally, working within the DOFs strategic framework.

In practical language: The Nourry direction and decision to;
- Shift from UK markets (Ireland, Scotland, England, league 1, 2, and premier league 2) and shop in European markets only
- Bring in all 10 x new players with no championship experience between them
- Identify players exclusively through data and statistics
- Squad composition: Sell dykes and only go into the season with 2 strikers, loan Larkeche and only go into the season with 1 left back, not sign a play-making CM needed for Marti ball, etc, not sign Isaac Hayden and instead chose Ashby last minute etc etc
- agree transfer fees, wages, contract lengths

Perhaps it means all these things?

Dave Mc and Gallen made the point that Belk is at QPR games rather than travelling to watch prospects.

Cifuentes has repeatedly said “the club has a name model”, “the club has signed players”, “my job is to coach the players”.

This squad/signings is on Nourry and Belk.

Our game model (preferred system and approach: 4231 and play out from the back, is on Nourry).

Our fitness/injury list is on the Performance function. That is/was led by Ben Williams, resident of Dubai and not present at the training ground (having been ever present last year). He has not been replaced if he has left, and isn’t present if he is. That is on Nourry. He’s CEO and Williams reported to him.

Marti is not the manager but the Head Coach. I notice that Coventry have said that they will be recruiting a new Head Coach rather than manager.

Head coach suggests less input in to player recruitment, work with what you are given. I guess football is changing, evolving but in my world I don't see anything other than a Head Coach/manager having the final word in signing a player to avoid any potential personality clash for starters.

Do players have the same respect for Head Coaches as they do managers or do they head to the football minded CEO and complain about the coaching?

I'm beyond laughing at the situation fella.

If he sacks Marti, I would be very close to being done with the whole thing and I don't want to be.

Along with the other things that have surfaced about Nourry, suffice to say there hasn't been anyone that has been as controlling as him since Flavio.

He is a poor man's Richard Thompson and he was a tosser well.

Nourry is the CEO and the DOF, he's running the whole club, if he's not to blame for whats happened under his watch then who is?

You don't need to know the inner workings of the football club to spot the problem

Under Ferdinand he was always given a pass as the the owners were having a massive say on who the manager was and the direction of travel, thats not the case anymore so if we do well Nourry would rightly get the credit but if we don't he gets the blame and thats the way it should be

Nobody has to be blamed necessarily. We are bottom of the table, not far off where we'd be ranked by budget size or attendance with around 8 1st team players out injured including our best players, at the same time as we have been trying to bed in new players. Mistakes have no doubt been made, but there is still time to stay up this season by working hard in training, at getting injured players back asap, and if possible financially bringing in new players where we need them in January. "Fan mobilisation" against Nouri or anyone else at the Club isn't going to help that.

You can't get many in the January window

Very rare any club do more than two or three deals then.

We're doomed. Doomed, I tell you !!!

One of the reasons there are so many ‘performance’ staff now is that Ben Williams has been replaced . For example Rory Findlay has taken over dietary management . He’s in the club photo .
We need to stop talking like he is still at the club. He isn’t .

They just don’t want you to shine a light on those who have came in and made a mess of everything

Yes, but this precise situation is ridiculous, isn’t it?

Last year the club wheel Ben Williams out at the fans forum, make him front and centre, and laud ip our injury record as we go through the season. Fair’s fair, it was bloody good and played a big part in keeping us up.

Now, Nourry won’t say if he’s still working with QPR or departed. At the fans forum he told fans Williams was still working for the club, just based on Dubai, and we were unhappy with the Net’s announcement. It’s all in Clive’s write up.

However, reality is he’s certainly not physically working at the club (quite important for the Head of Performance of a football club), and several are saying that he has left and others have taken over his responsibility. If so, did Nourry lie? And who hired these new staff? When? Is there a Head of Performance/Fitness accountable for our overall fitness and injury record? These are basics of management. If he has a group of people now doing Williams’ role but no one is overall accountable he’s making one of the most basic mistakes of organisational structure. So he’s accountable. Our fitness and injury record are terrible this season.

He’s lost a key member of staff, lied about it and sounds like he’s bodged the replacement, and whatever he’s done we have the worst injury record in the league…seriously impacting our competitiveness on the pitch.

You can’t take the credit and promote how great we are in this area when it’s going well, and then not take the blame/criticism when, quite soon after, it’s going terribly and we’re the worst.

Exactly that list is all Nourrys responsibility, major decisions which have got us to a worse situation than last year after spending what little money we had in the Summer, signing 10 players without one of them having Championship experience is madness, he's just gambling with the money like he's in a casino, a young man of 26 with no football experience.

I totally appreciate that sacking Nourry now is not going to change what happens on the pitch in the next two months but he needs to go and be replaced with somebody with experience, Hoos is just as culpable because I'm guessing it's him who sold the idea to Rubén. As for Belk he's just done his job identifying targets for positions in the team, it's the Director of Football laughably Nourry who decides what markets we are shopping in and the squad composition.

Some sort of change needs to happen to try and start rectifying the situation now, this season may well be too late because we look totally bereft with attacking intent and by January it looks as if we will be cut adrift.

This I called from day one with him, you can't communicate with the fan base like this. It's contemptuous to us, people won't have it, and it will blow up on you because as soon as things start going badly all your credit will be burned off and nobody will trust you.

I think so many of his problems are growing out of this because nobody believes a word he says.

Go right back to the day we announced him in the job. It says in the release he's "been in football 11 years", but he was 26 at the time. So that's just a straight up lie. We asked the club how old he was and they told us they didn't know (they did subsequently apologise for this). Watch the video they did with him on the offish - it's absolutely cut to ribbons, huge edits in it where they've obviously had to stop, start again, splice in new bits.

Much of this control freaky stuff is for no real gain whatsoever. The Santos and Morrison signings for example, announced an hour before the first friendly, because they were playing in it. Those boys had obviously been here a long time prior. People were spotting them in the background of the training photos. Morrison had all his signing pics etc done at Heston, and they'd been in Spain several days. The rest of the Championship doesn't give a sht that you've signed Morrison and Santos. What are you getting out of hiding that other than to show that you can?

It blows my mind to pieces that the club would have the temerity to put that into print on his first day ! What did they think we’d all do , start claiming we have a child genius on our hands ?
Or start questioning ridiculous mistruths like that one ? So arrogant to think we’d all just bow down and not ask questions . If he was working in football when he was 15 , then when did he go to Oxford and study ? Or is that nonsense too?
And as you say Clive, when things start to unravel , it’s nonsense like this that jumps up straight away .

And obviously the reason that the questions at the ‘fans forum’ were pre vetted days before hand .

You are free to ask the questions I will allow you to ask .

Red flags all over the place

It’s insecurity and fear of scrutiny dressed up as business smarts. That’s all. Hardly surprising for a 27 yr old with about 4-5 years of career experience finding himself in a very visible CEO role.

I started to delve through this post almost an hour ago (interesting reading!) and then literally minutes in, received a call to learn that a very close friend and former colleague is leaving the club after nearly 25 years of service - in short, because of Nourry and the 'toxic' environment he is bringing in-house.

I'm not here to spread rumours or conjecture, but this just highlights what alarming deep-rooted issues we have at the club right now; it appears the playing side is only half the battle.

I'm not sure what we can do as fans, but Clive, if you're able to reach out privately, it might be nice to discuss more...

Most fans on here were really happy with the direction of the club in pre-season, the stats-based approach was seen as a transition to a more modern approach in today's game, and we were onboard.

The signings were welcomed, but there were a few rumblings about the lack of English league experience amongst them.

We managed to shift on a lot of players that needed shifting - across the whole of the squad, development etc, and staff too – it all looked really positive, at least to me.

We made a couple of early signings, but the majority had to come late in the window, as we usually do to try and grab a bargain or 2.

At that point, I was happy, and I thin most of us were pretty happy?

Then the actual football started, and it all went south.

No cohesion, no discernible style, no flow to our game... and no goals.

I was waiting for November (© Wycleff) for the team to settle and start gelling, but it hasn't materialised yet. I think most fans would be more forgiving if we were playing better and just not getting the rub of the green, but aside from a couple of flurries that required the ghost of Gordon Banks to turn up in the opposition goal, its all been really poor.

We've gambled on Nourry and it hasn't' paid off.

In Marti I trust, but even he has to shoulder some of this - we've not looked capable at all. Yes, there are injuries - a lot of injuries to key players, but there have been some head scratching decisions too, at least from my limited understanding of footballing strategy.

I don't know if Nourry should go or not, I understand that we are bottom of the league and its precarious to say the least, but his approach seems to mirror that of many other clubs who have had success, but we're QPR and, well, of course.

I don't want Marti to go, I know that.

The owners?

Who would have us, and what would their motive be?... look at Reading ffs.

Start with flyers printed out with "We want Nourry out" at the next few home games. Won't be long before the chants are echoing round the ground.
