TBF if I had just spent a year on the treatment table, it might focus my mind that there is potentially a very short period of time to make a sum of money which would set me up for life.
Particularly if the seriousness of the injury meant I might not ever get back to a level of performance I was achieving before the injury.

Thing is he's not actually worth 50 million now.
In terms of achievement what's he done? He left Chelsea and played some very good games here for half a season before being injured for a year.
So when he played he looked like he could become a 50 million pound player hence we are all gutted if he leaves now. But is he worth 50 mill? Absolutely not.
I have very little doubt he will be a top player and could even oust Trippier from the first team this season. But I think it's unlikely in our current position anyone will pay us the full value of his potential. |  | | |

We need to play hard with these cash rich clubs. It’s about time we overvalued our players like every other club does . Players shouldn’t be allowed to put in crap half hearted performances and then just decide they’re off. I’m not talking about Tino because he’s been injured but just in general . Fair play to saints.
