Think we got a bit lucky. Left the c&s a bit earlier than usual. Got the tube home from White City after. No trouble at all.
I don't think I've ever had any trouble getting home along South Africa Rd. It's always Uxbridge Rd. There was one game against Leeds I remember where it was a bit hairy but nothing came of it.

Here’s a suggestion after the game , send them all out into ellerslie road block it from the away exit and at the end of Blomfentien road until the majority of homes fans have left the Immed area the walk them back to the station easier than the mess we have when they and millwall Visit every season .
It will be for me ... a few cans ,whats app chat with my boys during the game , a stream with London and Sinton , a load of cash saved and home from the game by five to five .
I watched a vid shot on the Uxbridge Rd after the game - I don't recall seeing a police presence that size EVER at Loftus Rd. Couple of thoughts, so many officers, everywhere but where fighting was breaking out, any arrests for affray or bodily harm etc? Strange if not considering the general melee reported around Shepherds Bush.

I know there were at least 5 arrests from one of the police serials a friend of mine worked on on Friday. I think he said a fair few were nicked for fighting, got no 'victim' come forward or wanting to know so they got nicked for public order offences instead of the assault. And not surprisingly most of them had some coke on them too. Would be interesting to know exactly how many in total were nicked on Friday...

That's not a bad suggestion - I'd guess the residents on that section of Bloemfontein Rd wouldn't be too happy but something's got to give.
The problem with blocking off that way out on Friday, and allowing the way fans to leave at the same time, was most people who were heading west from there must have ended up going against the traffic of Luton fans for a far longer period than normal - I did anyway. It just didn't seem like a sensible solution.

I keep reading that there is a separate entrance to the School Upper than the School lower - which is true.
However, the School upper has steps leading to/from both SAR and Ellersie. Away fans can be escorted around the school, down Ellersie and that way around to White City/Wood Lane/Shepherd's Bush H+C.

Some may say that their - firm - presence created the 'need' for a rival firm but that wasn't the case at places like Leeds, Luton, Birmingham, Millwall etc.
That's why I find that there isn't many a fan base in the country where the majority of older fans don't have a bit of respect for their club's firms even if it is begrudgingly. Its not as straight forward as some think.

If none of these cnts attached themselves to football clubs there wouldn't be the need for any of it.

Also, just for the record, acknowledging that it's not straight forward isn't a declaration of love. I respect the loyalty a lot of the old C Mob - and subsequent groups - showed for this club and still do in many cases and I am grateful that they protected us at some grim places.
Some of the most recognisable and respected faces in our support are not well known because they made nice cakes to take on the away coaches. They are respected for a reason.

This never makes sense to me, but you always hear people who were/are involved in football violence coming out with this argument. Using you and Luton as an example, there will be Rangers fans arguing that if it hadn’t been for your mob back in the day, trips to Luton would have been much worse for normal fans, and I’m sure you’ll find Luton hooligans saying the same about trips to Loftus Road. But the truth is that if everyone who wanted to fight at the football just fu cked-off, everyone else could have a hassle-free match day, drink where they want, no bubbles, dry trains, early kick-offs etc.
Every person ever involved in football violence seems to argue that they never attacked scarfers, only went at it with like-minded opponents etc, but that’s bo blocks because I know loads of people who’ve been started on who have never been into that scene. It’s people justifying their bullying, violent, antisocial behaviour. True, on the odd occasion a load of your own idiots running round the corner might get you out of bother, but there’s a fair chance that something your idiots did previously was the reason you were in trouble in the first place. These tit-for-tat reprisals have a habit of involving innocent people and businesses as pubs and stuff get smashed up. I genuinely don’t think most fans think of their firm as guardian angels, I think most people see them as an embarrassing pain in the ar se, especially when it’s coked-up fat blokes in their 50’s and early 60’s bowling round with a load of youngsters in tow.
