...even though they played for teams you didn't.
Always admired Peter Osgood, 'cept when he scored against us, again and again and again.

Jamie Ward.
Always hated him, seemed to be two of him on the pitch but would have loved him the hoops.

It's being so happy that keeps me going.

Loved Le Tiss

The best team performance I can recall against us was back in 89 ( I think) we played Southampton and they had shearer , Les Tiss & rod Wallace , we got taken apart , sure it was 1-4 but it should have been 10 , that front three was the best I’ve ever seen at our place and Tiss was a maestro conducting it all

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

A long time ago I wanted us to buy Mick Vintner of Notts County. Had no idea if he was any good but I liked his name and he was a winger. We’d probably just sold Dave Thomas.

Ok, going back to the OP it has to be players you liked from teams that you didn't.

So, Dave Thomas at Everton, Paul Parker at Man Utd, David Seaman at Arsenal....

There was a time not that long ago that I was banging on about getting Nahki Wells & Joe Lolley in. After his displays last season I hoped against hope that we could lure Semi Ajayi to W12, now Dael Fry would be on my wish list.

The grass is always greener.

And Zico. I was sometimes Zico.

Where were you when Ardiles played for us?

For me on the player front....Le Tissier

These definitely played for clubs that I don't like, but I would have liked them to play for us! We are going back to the 70's though.

Eddie Gray
Brian Greenhoff
Jimmy Greenhoff
Stewart Pearson

In more recent times I wanted us to sign Kieran Westwood but we got Rob Green!

His TV persona is excruciating, but Jimmy Bullard was a tremendous player. Don Goodman always gave everything each time he played. Heresy perhaps, but I always enjoyed watching David Speedie as a pantomime villain.

Bullard would have been perfect for us at one stage when he was at Peterborough. Was desperate for us to get him.

Le Tiss
Zola
Djorkaeff
David Silva
Ginola

Bare bones.

Wes Hoolahan. I think we tried to get him but there were contract issues and he went to Blackpool instead. Very creative and would have fitted in well with the Rs team at the time.

Martin Cranie. We had him on loan for a handfull of games and I was disappointed that we didn't sign him permanently. Versatile, good on the ball, dependable and a cut above most players we had on the payroll.

I was going to say Wes Hoolihan

Zola.

Remember him playing in a friendly against us. Everyone else was strolling around and he was treating it as if it was the World Cup Final. I bet he was the same in kick-abouts.

So imagine if Maradona had’ve been a QPR player. How many people’s attitude would‘ve been,“Well if we sell him we can get a decent centre-back, a solid midfield player, and a new outfit for Jude the cat” ?

Dave Seaman was a weird one for me. for some unknown reason i always saw him as a QPR player even though he played for the gooners. Loved that he played for England. Same with PP. and Ferdinand.
