What a centre half pairing.

A few superb tackles by VDH especially the one on the edge of the box.

Keep it up

For all those saying about the chances against us we have only conceded 11 goals in 15 matches and 3 of those in one match, second best defence in the league. can't just have been luck in 15 matches a â…“ of the way through the season.

Birmingham should have scored 4 or 5.

With the second best defence on the league we're clearly not doing too many things wrong. But that Ipswich game, where we conceded from three headers was obviously going to be noticed by opposition analysts, and we're now being targeted.

Some of the goals are down to lapses in concentration (e.g. VDH not even getting off the ground for Abraham's winner at Villa), but there have also been a fair few chances where the ball where the attacker has nipped in ahead of the defender - usually Joe (as with Gwion Edwards' goal). At corners we're also facing a lot of outswingers - because this takes the ball away from the line of defence closest to goal and typically containing our tallest players - Joe, McBurnie and VDH. Reading came close to scoring from one such scenario on Saturday, with Joe unable to get out from his zone in time. The winner for Ipswich was similar - with Connor Roberts, in the outer defensive zone, unable to compete with Chalobah.

Nordfeldt doesn't command his area as well as Mulder for sure - but few, if any of the headed goals we've conceded are down to his failings. One other area for improvement is stopping the ball at source. VDH was at fault for Ipswich's opener in that regard, and Celina I think made a poor effort to prevent the cross coming in for Villa's only goal.

Lot's of things to work on - and we need to, because the opposition will mercilessly target any perceived weakness.
